This conference, held at CMU and organized with the help of members of the MC Manitoba Palestine-Israel Network, was a significant ecumenical effort to address the call for solidarity from Palestinian Christians.

"This is God's mission... of love, wisdom, and strength."

Today Pamela Obonde, Church and Donor Relations Coordinator for Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission (AIMM), came to speak with Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church Manitoba staff in Winnipeg, MB.
From helping women with small business microloans in Angola to tailoring courses and literacy projects in the DRC to baking food projects in South Africa, the work of AIMM is deep and far reaching.

"I'm excited for the final week of the series, when churches are invited to 'consider bringing together other congregations in your area, worshiping outdoors, including lots of singing and prayer, and celebrating communion together.' Here in the Grand River watershed, churches are already collaborating to plan an Eco-Pilgrimage and Earth Eucharist at a local conservation area. This reflective walk and celebration of communion with all of creation will be a wonderful opportunity to join with Chistians around the world in reflection on St. Francis of Assisi's 'Canticle of the Creatures' as we mark the Feast of St. Francis (Oct. 4th) on the 800th anniversary of his death. What might this invitation to communion inspire in your watershed?"

Mennonite Church Canada writer, Laura Enns (Stirling Avenue Mennonite, Kitchener).

May 27th, 2026 is the 5th anniversary of the announcement of the Kamloops 215. In memory of the children who never made it home to their nations and families, community members in Manitoba, including members of MCM's Mennonite Coalition for Indigenous Solidarity, walked and rallied in care and love survivors and communities living in the aftermath of Residential Schools.

A time of change after two decades of PeaceBuilders Community Inc.

In March 2026, dozens of people gathered together to celebrate PeaceBuilders Community, Inc. (PBCI) and tell stories of Mennonite Church Canada’s Witness workers Lakan and Joji Pantoja as they transitioned from their roles in leadership. This included groups that 20 years ago, when the Pantojas began their ministry, would not have been seen in the same place, much less taking pictures and eating together.
