The Winnipeg Male Chorus is inviting men who love to sing to join its ranks as the choir launches its 2026/2027 season this September.
For more than 60 years, the Winnipeg Male Chorus has been bringing joy to audiences across Manitoba through the power of song. The choir performs a diverse repertoire spanning classical, folk, sacred music, show tunes, and popular favourites from artists such as Elton John, Leonard Cohen, Supertramp, and The Doobie Brothers.
Under the direction of Jeremy Vallance, the new season promises a program that blends beloved choral favourites with fresh, contemporary arrangements inspired by classic rock and popular music.
The Winnipeg Male Chorus is a non-audition choir that welcomes men of all ages and musical backgrounds — whether you're an experienced singer or have never sung in a choir before. Members enjoy the fellowship of a supportive community, develop their vocal skills, and experience the satisfaction of performing together.
“Songs Sung Better Together is about more than simply finding new singers,” says David Sanders, President of the Winnipeg Male Chorus. “It’s about inviting men to rediscover the enjoyment of singing, build new friendships and become part of a community that shares a love of music. You don’t need to read music or have formal training, you just need to enjoy singing. Our goal is to show men that choral singing can be fun, social and rewarding, and that there is a place for them in the Winnipeg Male Chorus.”
Interested singers are invited to attend the season's first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 7:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road, Winnipeg. The first visit is free, with no audition, no pressure, and no obligation to join.
