In the feast of Transfiguration of the Lord on Mount Tabor, the Church celebrates the manifestation of the fullness of the divine light, begun at the Theophany in the Jordan. As “our Saviour shone forth to the world, God manifested as light from light” in the Incarnation, so in the Transfiguration “the entire human nature divinely shone” and the Light of Christ effects the transfiguration of all creation. (Christ our Pascha, #575)
Today we bless baskets with first-fruits in thanksgiving to God for his abundant generosity in multiplying the fruits of the earth for us! ☦️

This past Sunday we celebrated the Feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. We are blessed to have two of the icons at our church, one that is past of mosaic decoration and the other a copy of the original that was blessed by late Pope Francis on June 26, 2016 in Rome that found its home at our church at the end of the 150th Anniversary of her re-discovery.
This year we were blessed to have two guests with us from Rome, Fr Ivel Mendanha, CSsR and Fr Paul Vinh, CSsR who serve as General Consultors. Fr Ivel shares with us God’s Word at both Divine Liturgies.
Through the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, please remember to pray for the Redemptorists and for the new vocations!

Вічная памʼять! Eternal Memory!

It is with deep sorrow that the Canadian Province of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) announces the passing of our beloved brother, Rev. Fr. Vladimir Kolpakov, C.Ss.R. on July 1, 2026. He was most recently affiliated with the Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and Redemptorist Community in Saskatoon (Saskatchewan).

Fr. Vladimir was 76 years old, and had been a professed member of the Congregation for 46 years. He was ordained to the priesthood on December 22, 1985 and exercised most of his pastoral ministry in Saskatchewan.

Information regarding his funeral and internment will be posted over the next few days.

Please keep Fr. Vladimir, his family and relatives, his confrères, and friends in your prayers at this time.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

On June 26th and 27th, we celebrated the Feast of Bl. Nicholas Charnetsky and his 24 companions, the New Martyrs of Ukraine amongst whom is included Bl. Bishop and Martyr Vasyl Velychkovsky, C.Ss.R. whose relics are housed in our Church. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Beautification of our Martyrs by Pope St John Paul II. We are happy that over 150 people (including a great number of young people) came for the Great Vespers and Rosary Walk on the Eve of the Feast. The preacher for the event was Fr Jay Korban, who shared with all present his reflection on Bl Vasyl and the New Martyrs of Ukraine. 🙏🏼😇🙏🏼 📿

On Monday, Tuesday, and even Wednesday, we hosted Ukrainian Catholic Bishops from across the United States and Canada during morning Divine Liturgies. They also came to the Shrine of Blessed Vasyl to pray before the holy relics, asking for his intercession for their ministries and for the people they serve.

This morning, our hard-working “Pierogy Bee” crew were blessed with the visit from His Grace Metropolitan Borys Gudziak from the Archeparchy of Philadelphia in the USA. Abp. Gudziak pointed out that building of parish community happens when people meet together for fellowship and activities… oftentimes at the foundational level of the church buildings… thus becoming “the living foundations of the Church.”
