Amiko-giba’igan is a special space at Siloam Mission that provides essential household items to people moving out of homelessness and into their own homes. Its name means “beaver dam” in Ojibwe, symbolizing wisdom, purpose, and the power of working together to build something strong.

When community members move into a new place, many are starting from scratch… often with only what they can carry.

That’s where Amiko makes a difference. From gently used dishes and cookware to coffee makers, mattresses, and everyday essentials, each item helps create comfort, stability, and a sense of home. What may feel small can mean everything in a fresh start. ❤️

If you have slightly used household items to give, we’d love to receive them. Drop-offs are welcome at 300 Princess St. (Henry Ave. entrance), Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM.
