Christian Science Church, Winnipeg First Church of Christ, Scientist; Sunday Services are at 11 am, and Wednesday Meetings are at 7:30 pm. The church maintains a Reading Room as well.

It's based on the Bible and is explained in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy. od to be "a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1). In 1866, after many years of study, Mary Eddy discovered what she considered to be the Science of the Christianity which Jesus taught and lived. She dedicated herself to teaching, preaching, and healing others through this system for applying spiritual laws—Christian Science—and in 1875 she published her primary book about it, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. By 1879, she founded the Church of Christ, Scientist. Though it is not necessary to be a church member to study Christian Science today, there are members in over 130 countries and democratically run churches in over 75 countries.

✏️🍎📓 During month, learn more about a Colorado teacher, Celia F. Osgood Peterson, whose significant career in education occurred during a period of major progressive reforms across the United States.

Peterson’s study of Christian Science prompted her to write the following to Mary Baker Eddy:

“Personally, C. S. has done everything for me, I have always been considered the reverse of strong, and my work has been hitherto done on will power against heavy odds of fatigue and exhaustion. Now I know there is a mightier than will power, and I am an incarnation of health and strength, and no longer know what it is to be tired.”

“start a daily newspaper called Christian Science Monitor This must be done without fail”

On this day in 1908, Mary Baker Eddy called for the establishment of The Christian Science Monitor. Just four months later, the first issue of this international daily newspaper was printed.

With summer comes state fair season in the US ☀️🎡. that the Concord State Fair grounds bordered Mary Baker Eddy’s home in New Hampshire? She attended the fair twice (pictured here riding her carriage on the grounds in 1901). And she particularly enjoyed watching the high diver on both her visits!

Eddy showed a great interest in the fair, donating money for its creation and for various philanthropic projects in the area.
