Са радошћу вас обавештавамо да Појачка школа при Храму Успења Пресвете Богородице – Грачаница наставља са радом у петак, 2. октобра.

Часови ће се одржавати сваког петка:

• у 18.00 часова – Акатист Пресветој Богородици
• од 19.00 до 20.00 часова – час црквеног појања

Часове ће водити наш парохијски свештеник, презвитер Милорад Делић.

Школа је отворена за полазнике свих узраста који желе да науче православно црквено појање и постану појци при нашем храму.

CHURCH CHANTING SCHOOL RESUMES

We are pleased to announce that the Church Chanting School at the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos – Gračanica will resume on Friday, October 2.

Classes will be held every Friday:

• 6:00 PM – Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos
• 7:00–8:00 PM – Church chanting class

Classes will be taught by our parish priest, Fr. Milorad Delić.

The school welcomes participants of all ages who wish to learn Orthodox liturgical chant and become chanters at Gračanica Church.

PATRONAL FEAST OF WINDSOR’S GRAČANICA

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, a great number of faithful gathered at Gračanica – the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos – to celebrate its patronal feast.

The Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Dr. Mitrofan. Concelebrating were Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Miroljub Todorović, Episcopal Deputy; Presbyters Georgije Tubonjić, Marko Dimić, Brian Payne, and Milorad Delić - parish priest; and Deacon Srđan Mišković.

Many faithful, both children and adults, received Holy Communion.

Reflecting on the Gospel account of the rich young ruler (Matthew 19:16–26), His Eminence called upon everyone to free their hearts from all that separates them from Christ and to entrust their lives fully to Him.

This year’s kumovi were John Steel and Milica Yaksich.

Following the Liturgy, a threefold procession took place around the church, during which Metropolitan Mitrofan blessed the “Krajiška Suza” monument, erected in prayerful memory of the innocent Serbs who suffered and were expelled from Krajina. Ribbons blessed at the Holy Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos were then distributed to the faithful.

The celebration continued at the Serbian Centre, where children who had completed our Church School received their diplomas. Seven scholarships, each valued at $1,000, were separately awarded to young members of our church community pursuing further education. Episcopal Grammatas were also presented to deserving parishioners.

His Eminence expressed his great joy at seeing the church filled with faithful people, especially so many children and young people.

With joy, we invite you to join us on Sunday, August 23, as we celebrate the patronal feast of our Gračanica Church.

The welcoming of Metropolitan Mitrofan will take place at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. The festal banquet will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Serbian Community Centre.

Following the Divine Liturgy, there will be a threefold procession, the blessing of the Krajiška Suza Memorial and the Slava offerings, as well as the distribution of ribbons blessed upon the Holy Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Драга браћо и сестре,

У недељу, 30. августа, после Свете Литургије, окупићемо се на породичном пикнику Црквене школе, у павиљону иза Српског центра, од 13 до 16 часова.

Том приликом представићемо тим Црквене школе и програм који припремамо за предстојећу школску годину. Родитељи ће моћи да упознају наш тим, поставе питања и сазнају више о свему што планирамо да радимо са децом.

Очекује нас радосно породично дружење уз укусну српску храну, игру, песму и различите активности за децу и одрасле.

Желимо да наша деца Црквену школу доживе не само као место учења већ и као своју заједницу — место у којем ће расти у вери, знању, пријатељству и љубави према свом наслеђу.

Позивамо све наше породице, парохијане и пријатеље да нам се придруже и да заједно започнемо још једну лепу школску годину.

On Sunday, August 30, following Divine Liturgy, we will gather for our Church School Family Picnic at the pavilion behind the Serbian Centre, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

During the picnic, we will introduce our Church School team and present the program we are preparing for the upcoming school year. Parents will have an opportunity to meet our team, ask questions, and learn more about everything we are planning for the children.

We look forward to a joyful afternoon together, with delicious Serbian food, games, singing, and activities for children and adults alike.

We want our children to experience Church School not simply as a place of learning, but as their community—a place where they can grow in faith, knowledge, friendship, and love for their heritage.

We warmly invite all our families, parishioners, and friends to join us as we begin another wonderful school year together.

Са радошћу вас позивамо да нам се у недељу, 23. августа, придружите да заједно дочекамо Његово Високопреосвештенство Архиепископа торонтског и Митрополита канадског, господина др Митрофана, и да на Светој Архијерејској Литургији молитвено заблагодаримо Господу и Пресветој Богородици, прослављајући храмовну славу наше Грачанице.

Вернима који тога дана буду сабрани на Светој Литургији биће, на благослов, подељене трачице освећене на Часном појасу Пресвете Богородице. Ова велика светиња боравила је у Храму Светог Саве у Београду, где јој се поклонило мноштво верног народа. Љубављу отаца из Србије, одређени број ових освећених трачица дарован је и нашем храму, како бисмо их на дан наше славе поделили верном народу.

With joy, we invite you to join us on Sunday, August 23, as we welcome His Eminence, Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada, Dr. Mitrofan, and gather at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy to offer our prayerful thanksgiving to the Lord and the Most Holy Theotokos while celebrating the patronal feast of our Gračanica Church.

The faithful gathered at the Divine Liturgy that day will receive, as a blessing, ribbons blessed through contact with the Holy Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos. This great holy relic was present for veneration at the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade, where multitudes of the faithful came to venerate it. Through the love and kindness of the clergy in Serbia, a number of these blessed ribbons were also gifted to our church so that we may distribute them to the faithful on the day of our Slava.
