THE BEGINNING OF THE END
(Matthew 24)

Just as how Christ came on the first Christmas or the first advent the first time, He will come at the end of the age the second time, the second advent. But how much has this awareness of His return affected your lives? This past year? This past month? This past week? Or did you even think at all about Christ’s soon coming as you went about your week? Did it figure in how you spent your time? Did it determine how you spent your money? Did it fill you with hope as you faced a trial or crisis? Have you ever thought about what it will be like to stand before Him on that great day?

KNOWING GOD THROUGH THE HISTORY OF PRESENT-DAY ISRAEL
(Genesis 12:1-3)

We celebrate the human birth of the Second Person of the Triune God during Christmas. Through His incarnation as Jesus, we got a glimpse of who God truly is. But right now, we do not have Jesus with us anymore–at least physically. What we have is the Bible, which reveals to us the true God. Also, we have with us Israel, the chosen people of God. They are a testament to the existence of the God of the Bible as we see His promises fulfilled in them as they are written in His Word.

MADE RIGHT BY GOD
(Romans 5:1-2)

We need peace with God. We need access to grace. We need hope in the glory of God. We need Jesus.

THE LORD'S TABLE IS NOT FOR THE SINLESS
(1 Corinthians 11:17-34)

A story is told about the Lord’s Table held in a church. When the elements came to a 16-year-old girl, she suddenly turned her head aside and motioned for the elder to take the cup away. But the pastor intervened, approached her, and tenderly said, “Take it, it is not for the sinless!”

So, let us all come to the Lord’s Table–it is not for the sinless!

TRUE VERSUS FALSE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
(Romans 8:14-16)

Some have false assurance of salvation, and so are not truly saved. Others are truly saved, but need true assurance of salvation. Which one are you?

TO OBEY GOD--WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
(Acts 5:17-42)

Every parent wants to instill unquestioning obedience into his child because his safety and very life may depend on it. And God wants to instill the same kind of obedience into His children. But sometimes obeying God will not bring us into a place of safety, but rather, into danger and harm.

MORE FAITH OR MORE OBEDIENCE?
(Luke 17:1-10)

Many of the commands in the Bible are so hard, that if we only take the Bible very seriously, we will be overwhelmed by these seemingly impossible commands. The disciples, therefore, must have realized that these were difficult demands, even impossible. So they asked the Lord, “Increase our faith!” But is increasing one's faith really the answer? Jesus responds differently.

WHY IS THE GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS?
(Ephesians 2:8-10)

If you ask anyone the question, “Why should God let you into heaven?,” the answer you most often will hear is, “I have tried to be a good person.” Or, “I have never hurt anyone intentionally.” Or, “I have lived a good life.” Even many who attend Christian churches believe that the way to be accepted by God is to try sincerely to live a good life. So we ask, what is the good news?

THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP
(Luke 14:25-33)

Jesus brings out a 'shocking' idea that there is a very real and costly price to following Him.
