⛪ A piece of Windsor history standing right in the heart of Old Sandwich Towne.

St. John’s Anglican Church has been part of this community for more than 200 years. The congregation dates back to the early days of Sandwich, and the present church is the third church to stand on this site.

One incredible piece of its history happened during the War of 1812. American forces used the earlier church as a stable for their horses before burning it as they retreated in 1813. A new brick church was built in 1819, with additions and changes made over the years.

The cemetery beside the church is just as historic, with gravestones dating back to the late 1700s and many early Sandwich pioneers buried there.
