We hope to bring together the students of the University of Windsor with the surrounding neighbourhood in Holy Community. We want to be a place where we can learn to love each other and our neighbours as we are, and in so doing discover who God is calling us to be.

This Wednesday, our food cupboard will be open from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, providing a helping hand to those in need. Anyone struggling or facing food insecurity can access our food cupboard and receive the support they require. Our doors are open to everyone.

On this thanksgiving Sunday and coming.out day we want you to know:

You belong in church. You are welcome to worship, lead, share communion, serve, and be part of this community.

We’re giving thanks for the LGBTQ+ people who enrich our churches, families, and neighbourhoods. We’re grateful for your faith, your love, and everything you bring.

If church has given you reason to doubt that welcome, we understand that a video won’t settle it. You deserve to experience it in how you’re treated and how you’re able to participate.

We’re also grateful for those who question what they were taught and explore a relationship with God beyond the fear they grew up with. Your questions belong here, too. They help all of us grow.

We give thanks to God for creating us in love, to Jesus for showing us how to love one another, and to the Holy Spirit for helping us grow in faith, ask honest questions, and welcome each other more fully.

Happy Thanksgiving from University Community Church, a Presbyterian and affirming congregation beside the University of Windsor. Come as you are.

What happens when “more” becomes our definition of enough?

We thank God for the blessings of home, family, work, and all that we have. But what happens when someone else is praying just as sincerely and still loses their home, can’t find work, or is grieving?

This Thanksgiving, we’re reminded that gratitude isn’t about pretending everything is good.

Join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to give thanks, live generously, and make room for our neighbours.
