University Community Church We are a vibrant, welcoming, spiritually stimulating, LGBTQ+ friendly, Jesus-centred community. Mission: (Re)discover the grace and love of Jesus

We hope to bring together the students of the University of Windsor with the surrounding neighbourhood in Holy Community. We want to be a place where we can learn to love each other and our neighbours as we are, and in so doing discover who God is calling us to be.

This Wednesday, our food cupboard will be open from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, providing a helping hand to those in need. Anyone struggling or facing food insecurity can access our food cupboard and receive the support they require. Our doors are open to everyone.

The question is not just, “How do we get people back to church?”
but, "What kind of church are we inviting people back to?

Pentecost reminds us that the Spirit pushed ordinary, frightened people outward with courage, grace, and a message people could actually hear.

Maybe that is still the invitation in front of us: not to become louder, more defensive, or more polished, but to become a community where people can encounter the grace and love of Jesus in real life.

A place where people are known.
Where questions are allowed.
Where grief is not rushed.
Where grace matters more than performance.
Where love actually looks like Jesus.

What happens when the church confuses certainty with faithfulness?

Many people are not walking away from the church because they have too many questions. They are walking away because they are weary of arrogance and communities that treat doubt as a failure of character.

In Matthew 28, we find a surprising truth: when the disciples met the risen Jesus, some worshiped and some doubted. Jesus welcomed them all.

So, what do we do with our own questions?

Join us this Sunday at University Community Church for “Is certainty required?”

Many people today are not necessarily closed off to God, but they are skeptical of the church. They wonder if we have anything real to say. Are they right?

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit did not erase difference.
People heard the good news in their own languages, cultures, and voices.
Today at UCC, we celebrated the beauty of a church where people from different backgrounds, generations, and stories gather as one community. Not because we are all the same, but because God meets people where they are and calls out out into what is different.
A multicultural church is not a trend. It is a glimpse of the Kingdom of God.

Many today aren’t necessarily closed off to God, but they are skeptical of the church. They wonder if we have anything real to say, and whether we can say it in a way people can actually hear. Are they correct?

In honor of the multicultural aspect of Pentecost, we will be dressing in a way that reflects our diversity. Please also bring a treat from your cultural heritage to share!

Join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM as we celebrate the Spirit that unites us all.

If God is really kind to somebody who is behaving very badly, are we pleased or annoyed? Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven operates under the law of grace, not under the law of you get what you deserve. How will we like this way of living?
