Vineyard Church Windsor

Vineyard Church Windsor Knowing, loving and serving the Son. Together! Come join us at 10 on a Sunday morning. Dress casually. See vineyardwindsor.com for more information.

We often speak of family at the Vineyard. God sent his wonderful Son to us, and when we say yes to Him, that makes God our Father. And we are brothers and sisters! That includes those who love Jesus in other churches too. We want to do life together with this wonderful Son of God, and seek His kingdom first. We highly value small groups, of which we have several that run on different days and even

ings. We also love serving together in very practical ways like raking leaves, washing cars, giving away food and drink, all to show Jesus’ love to people. Check out vineyardwindsor.com for more information .

Ever wonder where the Vineyard movement began? 🌱✨

It all started back in the 1960s and 70s during the Jesus People movement—a powerful spiritual awakening where thousands of young people, searching for true meaning, were transformed by the Holy Spirit.

By 1974, a soft-spoken leader named Kenn Gulliksen started a church in Hollywood focused on cultural relevance and intimate worship. He gave these newly formed communities a beautiful name: Vineyard (inspired by Isaiah 27:2–3 and John 15:5).

In 1982, leadership was passed to John Wimber, whose teachings on Kingdom theology and worship deeply shaped the movement's identity. From those early days of just a handful of churches, a massive wave of renewal spread—eventually crossing into Canada, leading to Vineyard Canada becoming its own independent national family in 1995.

Today, the heart cry remains exactly the same as it was decades ago: "Come, Holy Spirit." 🙌🇨🇦

As we mentioned in our last post on Canada Day, it is so important to pray for our government and those in leadership. But our call to prayer doesn't stop at the border! As believers, we are called to pray for all governments and nations.

Today is July 4th, which means it’s time to pray for our family and friends to the South... or, if you’re reading this from Windsor, our neighbors to the North! 😉🍁

Jokes aside, let's take some time today to lift up the United States. Regardless of where we live, what happens in their nation impacts the world. Let’s pray together for:

*Wisdom and guidance for their leaders at every level.
*Unity and peace across their communities during complex times.
*God's continued grace over their nation and our brothers and sisters in Christ who live there.

The Bible makes it clear that our prayers for leaders are crucial for peace and godliness to flourish everywhere.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV) > "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

Take a moment today to say a prayer for the USA. When we lift up other nations, we invite God’s peace to rule in our own hearts, too. Happy 4th of July to all our American friends! 🎆🙏

Let's pray for our country today. Let's regularly pray for our governments. 1 Timothy 1:1-3 -

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior."

Let's pray that God will raise up Christian leaders, and also send out many Canadians to be messengers (including us) of the good news of Jesus Christ. There are many, many people groups in our country, which is an opportunity to "make disciples of all nations" - because the nations are all around us!

Life is simply better together! 🤝
We believe that true community and growth happen in circles, not just in rows. Our small groups are the heartbeat of our community—a place to ask questions, share life’s ups and downs, build deep friendships, and grow together in a supportive environment.
☀️ As we head into the busy summer months, some of our small groups are taking a well-deserved break to rest and recharge. However, community doesn't stop!
If you are looking to get connected, want to see which groups are still meeting this summer, or want to get a head start on finding a group for the fall, we would love to help.

Happy Father’s Day! 👔💙
Tomorrow we celebrate all the amazing dads, grandpas, and father figures who guide, support, and love us.
As we honor our earthly fathers today, it's a beautiful reminder of the ultimate Father who created you and loves you perfectly. No matter what your earthly relationships look like, you are deeply cherished by your Creator.
📖 "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." — Psalm 103:13
📖 "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" — 1 John 3:1
Wishing all the dads a blessed day! ✨

Happy Trinity Sunday! Today we are thinking about the beautiful relationship between God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While the theology might sound deep, at its heart, the Trinity is about perfect community and love. In the Vineyard, we value authentic relationship above all else. We prioritize a 'come as you are' welcome because we believe this Triune God—who IS love—invites every single one of us into His family. It’s not about having all the right answers, but about experiencing His intimate presence together. We are so glad you are here with us, experiencing the one true God who loves us deeply!

"Come, Holy Spirit!" 🔥 Today is Pentecost, the day we celebrate God sending His Spirit to everyone! In the Vineyard, we believe the Holy Spirit isn't just a story from the past, but a real presence who helps us right now. We love living "naturally supernatural" lives—meaning you don't need any fancy hype, a perfect background, or a big performance, just an open heart. We simply pray, "Come, Holy Spirit," asking Him to fill us with love and power so we can care for others and bring God's goodness into our everyday lives. Come as you are, and let's experience God together!
