Our spiritual relationship with God is the front door to our house (or should be) and our bodily relationship with others is the back door to our house. We can be shouting ‘Glory Glory’ on our front porch every Sunday and letting each and every spiritual harlot and adulterous yearning in through the back door every Monday through Saturday. And we can still judge ourselves heaven bound and full of power because we haven’t soiled ourselves with a physical harlot! Lord help us!

I preached this Sunday that holiness isn't a destination it's a journey - a process of transformation - and now I find that others actually agree - I'm not crazy. . .

"Holiness is not a destination we earn or an escape from the things of our world. It’s the wholeness of God’s character reflected in us as we respond to his grace. Reduced to a list of dos and don’ts, we risk building an image of holiness on our own terms, forgetting that the miracle always begins with his direction not our effort."

Living as a holy people, we move beyond ourselves into the world’s wounds with Christ’s healing presence.

A 'public service' announcement regarding our church service. We start at 10:30 am on Sunday and finish when we finish. People are free to leave when they need to if they have appointments . . . - "We go to church with expectations and the one hour length of service is the most common. Sadly this isn’t the way the dead are raised, chains are broken or the blind come to see. If you want more, be prepared to let go of more – especially the one hour length expectation."

You make choices every day . . . "Every dynamic of the family, the church, and the inner life of the soul and spirit is founded on submission to the authority of Christ and His gentleness. This is the powerful message of Colossians Chapter 3 to the church. Sin no longer has power over us – we are enabled by the Holy Spirit indwelling in our spirit, to choose that which comes from above – from our Father in heaven. The power of sin is broken in our risen spirit and that includes prideful religious sin as well! We had a great Bible Study last night looking at Jesus's warning to the church at Ephesus (Rev 2:4) Pastor Gary Hamrick warned that there are many people in the church who think they are saved but aren't! It's a Terrible thing for a good looking church person to spend their life going to church and doing fundraising for good causes only to die and wake up in hell. What a downer! As a pastor I would rather have ten committed members loving Jesus than one hundred 'pretenders.' Here are my thoughts from a few years ago . . .
