“IT IS FINISHED.”

Death didn’t win. Sin didn’t win. The grave didn’t win.
On the cross, Jesus declared “It is finished” — not as a cry of defeat, but as a shout of victory. The work of salvation is complete. The price for our forgiveness is paid in full.

And on the third day, He rose, proving that His victory is our victory, His life is our life, and His hope is our hope.

Today, we celebrate the risen King who turns darkness into light, brokenness into healing, and despair into unshakable joy.

May we live as people of the Resurrection — bold, grateful, and overflowing with the love of Christ.

HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED!
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 15:57

Celebrating The One Mediator, The Ransom for All

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:5–6, ESV)

Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He is the perfect bridge between the holy God and sinful people (Rom 3:23). We are reconciled to God through Him. When He entered our world, He experienced hunger, sorrow, temptation, and pain – yet without sin (Heb 4:15). Therefore, He understands us. As a sinless High Priest, He sympathizes with our weaknesses. So, when we pray, we are not speaking into the void – we are coming through One who knows exactly what it means to be human.

Jesus also “gave himself as a ransom for all.” A ransom is the price paid to set someone free. And this is what He did at the cross. He did not merely negotiate peace – He purchased it with His own life. The cost was not silver or gold, but His blood. The result is freedom from sin, guilt, and eternal separation.

This is what we celebrate on a Good Friday; this is why this day is “good.” So whatever you are facing today, Christ not only hears you – He understands you. Give it all to Him. And if you have Him in your life, eternal life is sure (John 3:16; 14:6). Thank Him today for this expression of hope and love. Receive Him now if you haven’t (John 1:12) – and this will make your Good Friday even better!

SAY THIS PRAYER: Our heavenly Father, thank You that there is one true Mediator – Jesus Christ, Your Son. Thank You that He understands me, represents me, and has paid the full price for my salvation. Help me to trust Him fully, live in the freedom He purchased, and share this good news with others. In His name, I pray, Amen.

Merry Christmas to all our community, friends and family!

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, may our hearts be filled with joy, peace, and deep gratitude for God’s unfailing love. This season reminds us that Emmanuel—God is with us—bringing hope to the weary, light to the darkness, and salvation to all.

We thank God for each of you and pray that your homes be filled with His presence, your hearts with His peace, and your lives with His love as we continue to walk together as one church family.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
— Isaiah 9:6

Blessed Christmas and a joy-filled New Year in the Lord! 🎄✨

It’s Never Too Late to Appreciate! 💚🙌

Before October ends, we just want to take a moment to celebrate Pastor Ferdie Umali for Pastor Appreciation Month!

Pastor Ferdie may have only started with us last July, but it already feels like he’s been part of the GCF Durham family for a long time. His kind heart, gentle spirit, and hard work have truly blessed our church in so many ways. We’re grateful for how he leads with humility, serves with joy, and genuinely cares for everyone around him.

Thank you, Pastor Ferdie, for saying yes to God’s call and for serving with such love and faithfulness. We’re excited for what God has in store as we continue to grow together in Christ! 💫

"And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding."
— Jeremiah 3:15
