Still Reaching

Life has a way of slowly emptying us. Not always through one big crisis, but through a hundred small burdens that pile up - like carrying a backpack that somehow gets heavier every hour.
Psalm 143 reminds me that David had that feeling, too and he didn't hide it. He brought it to God. He remembered God's faithfulness and he kept reaching…even when he had little left to give.

Faith in real life isn't pretending you're strong.

Every-day faith is reaching for God when you can’t carry the load by yourself.

The Windy Lake First Nation's lands have been shared with cottagers for fifty years, but no one can agree on where the reserve land ends. The only thing that can prove the boundary is a steel surveyor's pin with the borders of the Windy Lake reserve etched into its head.

When the Mighty Muskrats hear that the pin was stolen years ago--and that it is connected to their grandpa's mysterious past--they make it their mission to find the missing pin and prove that the land belongs to their people. But the mystery gets tense when Grandpa becomes a suspect. Cousins Sam, Otter, Atim, and Chickadee must find that pilfered pin!

Kawartha Truth and Reconcilliation Quilt

The Parish Mosaic team is pleased to host Pam Hart from the Kawartha Truth and Reconciliation Suport Group here at Westminster on Aug 30th. She will be bringing the quilt made by some of the members of this group. The quilt is made of 24 squares each one telling a story of residential schools. Pam will be sharing some of these stories after service on Aug 30th. We hope you'll stay to enjoy light refreshments and hear about this amazing quilt. Pam will also be speaking at the Lucy Maude Montgomery museum on July 29th, you can visit their website for info.
