As we continued our series through Proverbs, Mark Hauch preached through how to trust God instead of ourselves. Exhorting the church to treasure Gods Word and asking the question - What if the heart you are trusting is also the heart deceiving you?

Jeremiah tells us that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick. Our problem is not only that our hearts wander. It is that they can convince us we are fine while pulling us away from God.

When we trust our feelings, our strength or our own understanding, we become dry and unfruitful. But when we trust the Lord and take Him at His Word, we are like a tree planted by water. Trials may come, but our roots remain secure.

Do not simply follow your heart. Bring your heart under the truth of God’s Word.

This past Sunday Jamie kicked off our new summer series “How to Live Well” through the book of Proverbs answering the question “How do we begin to live wisely?”

The start to living wisely is living in the fear of God & living God’s way in God’s world according to His Word.

1. TONIGHT is our MENS MINISTRY @ 7p. Come for a time of worship and fellowship and to hear Pastor Ian and address and work through questions submitted by our men in our church!

2. PRAISE & PRAYER - June 18th & 7p. This is an amazing opportunity to gather as brothers and sisters in Christ and lift high the name of God and encourage one another!

CONFERENCE RECAP

Our To the Ends of the Earth Conference | 2026 happened this past weekend and was an amazing time of worship, fellowship & hearing what God’s Word has to say about missions and evangelism.

We were blessed to have Tyler VanHalteren, Iosif Ma**ca & Harrys Goudas speak about proclaiming Christ to the nations, planting churches in different areas of the globe and partnering with churches to see the gospel advance.

Pray that we’d have the courage and boldness to go to the nations to share the gospel & to share the gospel with the nations that have been brought to our communities!

Pastor Ian reminded us that it’s possible to “baptize” our idols with religious language.

We can call fear “discernment.” We can call greed “stewardship.” We can call disobedience “wisdom.”
The question isn’t whether our words sound spiritual. The question is whether Jesus is truly our treasure.

What we worship reveals what we believe Jesus is worth.
Mark 14 challenges us to stop hiding behind religious language and surrender wholeheartedly to Christ

This past Sunday at Redemption Durham, Pastor Ian reminded us that Jesus did not go to the cross despite our sin. He went to the cross because of it.

Mark 14 shows us a Savior who was never a helpless victim. Jesus willingly moved toward the cross, knowing exactly what awaited Him.

He didn’t merely ask for sacrifice. He became the sacrifice.

The worth of Jesus is seen most clearly at Calvary, where the only worthy One gave Himself for the unworthy so that sinners could be forgiven and brought near to God!
