The Village (whitby)

The Village (whitby) We are becoming a community of people who love God, love our neighbours, and make the world a better place

Discovery:
We value discovery. May you discover God with us as we discover God with you. Story:
We value God’s story, your story and how those two stories intersect. Community:
We are becoming a community and we hope to serve our community. Our Vision:
The Village will be a church that celebrates what God is doing in our local communities. We will strive to be a community that surprises our city w

ith grace, surrounds it with love and fills it with hope. We want to be known, as Jesus said, by the way we love our neighbour. As we journey together towards God’s future, we hope to be better lovers of God and others. Following Jesus and living out His story (the Gospel) will make our world a better place.

That’s a wrap on our August hangouts. So many sweet moments of community at each event. Felt like the best attended August in a while.

Thanks to those who came, brought some food, and even hosted.

If you missed it, we get it, August is a busy and scattered month.
We hope you feel full and rested as the calendar will soon take us into September.

Who's around on Thursdays???

This week we have one our Thursday evening backyard hangouts happening.

Super easy...

Bring whatever food you'd like to eat: picnic dinner, snacks, takeout, pizza delivered to Jonathan's, etc.

We'll have drinks chilling in a cooler.

Pool is open for anyone to swim or jump in. (we think the kids might love that, but adults too)

Be there anytime between 5-8pm.

Deal?

No official RSVP necessary, but a DM with a 'we'll be swinging by' would be sweet ;)

DM for address if you don't know where Jonathan lives.

One of our two ‘coffee & community’ Sundays in August. So good to be around a table together.

Next one is on August 23, Roam Coffee 9-10am.

Thanks BROCK ST. ESPRESSO for the space, coffee, and lovely table to sit around!

As you know...our August looks very different. No Sunday gatherings at the school...but...a few opportunities to be together, build community, catch up, and be ‘the village’ in other settings and spaces.

Check out all the dates above and put a few on your calendar what work well with your schedule.

The only date we’d really love to get an RSVP is for August 9, as we’re buying some meat and drinks for that event.

The Thursday evening picnic style dates are casual, but if you let us know you’re coming, that would be sweet. Drinks provided for on those nights (August 13 & 27)...and the pool is open for any kids (or adults) that wanna swim on those nights.

The coffee hangouts are casual. If you can make one of those mornings, just show up and spend an hour with a few village folks. August 2 is in Whitby (Brock Street Espresso). August 23 is in Bowmanville (Roam Coffee). Both are very lovely cafes.

Wherever you are this month, we hope that you get some rest, and hope that we see you when you’re in town at one or more of our August dates.
