Pictou County Pilgrimage Walk Our vision is to provide a limited two day spiritual pilgrimage
in 2026 Will you walk with us? The less, the better. Perhaps a walking stick. Band-aids, if needed.

Tradition and Vision

An ancient Christian tradition of spiritual development is to go on a pilgrimage (ie: Jerusalem, Rome, The Camino in Spain, the walk to Canterbury). Pilgrimage provides a chance to pray, to “slow down”, to be contemplative, to appreciate a journey with God & His people along “old proven pathways”. Our vision is to provide a limited two day spiritual pilgrimage walk in beautif

ul Pictou County. We come to this ancient tradition from a Salvationist heritage, remembering our historic places of ministry and also honouring sacred Christian spaces along the way. Things you need to know:

Preparation for the walk

Wear good footwear for walking, that is already broken-in and comfortable. Bring spare socks (Merino wool is best if possible)

Take minimal gear. Wear clothing that is suitable for the days weather. Bring a small Bible and of course, three small rocks. A water bottle is essential and snacks are a plus. A camera is nice but please minimize cel phone usage. Any expenses are personal. Anticipate cost for your meal at a restaurant on Friday evening and a contribution towards Saturday evening’s meal. Lunch is provided. Expectations

A willingness to fully participate in daily activities, including the walk and the faith and fellowship times at the beginning and end of each day. Respect and dignity will be extended to all we meet on this journey.
