The verse of the day, tells us about fruit!
Not just any fruit that we can go and get from the farmers market!
It is a fruit that grows within the life of the followers of Christ!
This fruit is meant to bless others…
When we allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us, the fruit of the Holy Spirit will touch the lives of those around us! This is what Paul the Apostle wrote: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

This reminds me in part of the message Jesus preached. It is known as the sermon on the mount!
““Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. The Kingdom of God! The comfort of the Lord!
When we are faced with opposition, we have the opportunity to let the fruit of the Holy Spirit reach out in love, and joy, peace… and so on!
As I look around, there are so many hurting people! Age does not seem to have any barriers! Paul goes on to say this: “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Depending on your location, the weather may have brought with it heavy rains! Strong winds, perhaps power outages or trees down!
Where I live late afternoon and evening there were storms that seemed to keep coming and going… You would hear the rains pouring down! The winds were blowing the trees… Then there seemed to be a bit of calmness… But then it was like a continuous cycle of rains, wind, calmness… reminded me of life! There are times of heavy rains… strong winds… then a time when the storm seems to be calming down…
Looking back over this past devotion one in which I share, reminds me of getting through the storms of life…
Dear one reading this, if you find yourself in a place of despair and discouragement today, and wondering what to do, perhaps you had a sleepless night, or several sleepless nights due to worry and fear, and not knowing what is ahead... Job a wonderful godly man as a matter of fact God spoke of how godly he was. But the enemy came and brought such attacks upon him, that Job even thought it would have been better if he were never born... Sometimes life throws us so many difficulties, we wonder if we can get through another day... But I want to bring words of hope to you this day...
"You can make it;" You can get through this... When we are in training it can be very hard, but when a person stays at it strength replaces the pain, encouragement can replace discouragement. Listen to the words of Job a man who went through more than I could image... Job 10:12 NKJV “You have granted me life and favour, And your care has preserved my spirit;” Job 42:5 NKJV “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You...” I pray that you will see just how much God loves you, and think on His promises, His love and His mercies they are new every morning, great is His faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-26 NKJV God cares about you...
Yes with God by your side You can make it!!!

When the journey is long and the road is rough, and there seems to be more valley’s than mountains. When anxiety distress and fear try yo overtake us… We find words of our loving caring compassionate God exhorting us to comfort His people… How do we comfort others, Paul the apostle tells us how we are to do this:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

How has God brought comfort to you in your times of pain and suffering? We are to comfort others the way God comforted us…
The answers on how to find comfort and also give comfort to others is found in God’s word…
In reference to some passages on where to turn for comfort we find comfort in the words of David: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Comfort knowing God is with us in our darkest valley…
Jesus left us with these words: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When fear tries to grip our heart, Jesus says I am leaving you with My peace, it is not like the world’s peace which is based on circumstance, but it is a peace that conquers fear… worry and anxiety… Once again we read the words from Paul the Apostle: “Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

He mentions several things here in order to experience peace… there are a couple things gentleness… recognizing the Lord is near…
prayer…thanksgiving… talk to God… trust Him…
Peace… comfort… God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds through Jesus!!! When we are walking in accordance to God’s word and have experienced His peace, we are to be there to help others in their times of trial…Perhaps you can say, I have been comforted by the Lord, perhaps a fellow Christian has come along side of you to bring words of comfort to you… or maybe you have been able to encourage someone in their time of distress… The bible says this: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

I thank God that He is there for me… And I thank God for others who have come along side to help me when I have been struggling… My prayer for you today, whether you are in need of comfort or God has brought you comfort… May you always know the Lord is with you… “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

Funny thing how time seems to go by so quickly!
Yet we all have 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week! And the months seem to keep flying by!
Yet there are certain days on the calendar that may stand out to us more than the other!
We mark out days by birthdays, anniversaries… and then there are the days when something significant has happened that causes our world to stand still!!
Today is one of the days that has brought great change into my life and the lives of my family and others who were close to my dear husband!
September 1,2024 marks the day Joe went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! All the firsts have gone by as people say… the firsts are the worst! Interesting thing about grief… when love is deep and memories are strong I think we will or I will always remember the incredible memories and times we shared together…
It’s okay to cry when someone we love dies!
It’s okay to grieve and miss the person who has been in our lives and made such a difference in our world!
As a pastor I have walked along side of others who have also lost a loved one…
Times when all we can do is come along side the one who is in the midst of the greatest storm they have ever experienced, and just be there…
So today, if you have walked this journey of grief, my heart goes out to you as perhaps today is a day of remembrance in your life!
May you feel the embrace of the Lord Jesus around you… May the God of all comfort, bring His peace into your heart! I thank God for family and friends that have walked along side of me during these past two years!
I am forever grateful to the One the bible says sticks closer than a brother and that of course is my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

I love the verse of the day!!!
“Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.”

I Thank God for those who have gone before us!
Those who have shared their faith with others!!!
I thank God for the message of hope and infinite love of Jesus! There has never been a greater message and there has never been a greater hope than the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ! I will forever be grateful for the people that God brought into my life! The ones who brought words of life! Words of Hope! And words of wisdom to experience the grace of God in my life personally!
A few days ago, I found myself captivated by the brightness of the moon. Now the picture I got does not show forth the full radiance and beauty of the moon I saw that night!
I tried to get a picture of it! Sometimes we try and explain the gospel and perhaps we can’t fully express the full beauty of what Jesus has done for us! I would encourage you to take a glimpse into the beauty of the gospel in the book of John in the New Testament!!!
The moon that night was so beautiful and amazing, I wanted to get a closer look, but the trees and the fields kept blocking my view! There will be times when other things will come and try and block the view and the beauty of the gospel of the Lord Jesus!
This verse tells us of those who are wise shine like the firmament! The brightness and the beauty of that night caught my attention! The message of the gospel, shines so brightly and beautiful with the greatest message of Hope I have ever heard!
And when we see something so incredible and we experience something so life changing we want to share it with others! And I thank God for the ones that showed me the beautiful love of the Lord Jesus Christ!
The next part of the verse says, there are “those who turn others to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever!!!“
Jesus says this: ““You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

I Thank God for the ones that have gone before me and shared the Light of the Lord Jesus with me!!! Where would I be if had not been for those who have gone before us!!!
