How can we cultivate these Christlike desires, increasing our delight in obedience and decreasing the allure of temptation?

First, cultivate delight in obedience by feasting upon the goodness of God. Notice, Jesus says, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me.” This is not allegiance to an abstract moral code. This is fellowship with a person. The Son loves the Father and delights to do his will.

Do you want to undercut the allure of sin and build up the impulse to obey? Feast on the goodness of God and cultivate your delight in him.

We had a great time serving a crowd of local youth this past Wednesday, with many taking part in the Bible Trivia Challenge.

" God does not forgive in cautious or partial ways. For those in Christ, his grace is abundant, gladly given, and eternally secure. When you turn to him, you do not meet a scorekeeper. You meet a Father who, for the sake of Christ, welcomes you with joy. This is the fullness of his forgiveness. This is the glad heart of God."

We often forgive hesitantly, partially, even begrudgingly. But that’s not how God shows grace. In Christ, God is wonderfully, eternally glad to forgive.
