The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization of Catholic gentlemen, 18 years of age and older. We are part of the Good Shepherd church and faith community providing support to our priests and bishops in the areas of Faith, Community, Family, Youth and Fellowship, We truly make a difference. We are dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. We are guided by our

belief in God and the Catholic Church, but we also believe in each other and ourselves. Our order was founded in 1882 in the USA by Father Michael McGivney originally to support members and their extended families in challenging economic times. Today in Alberta, we are 17,000 members strong in 400 parishes and 172 councils. We are part of a much larger organization, worldwide 1.6 million members. Our voluntary insurance is one of the best. Why join the Knights of Columbus? Good Shepherd member Knights do good works at the local council level. We volunteer our time, knowledge and labour throughout the parish and diocese. You will see us at Blood donor clinics; providing Scholarships and organizing Pancake breakfasts to name a few. Money raised from these is donated to 10 chosen charitable causes. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunity involvement in the community, service to the Catholic Church, to families in need and to young people. We invite you to join us.
