There will be no church service in Wembley or Beaverlodge United this Sunday (June 14) as congregations will be joining Beaverlodge’s St. Luke’s Anglican Church in a service at Hommy Park (near Hythe). The service is at 10:30 with a potluck lunch to follow.

There will be no church service in Wembley this Sunday because of the annual Wembley/Beaverlodge Church Camp-Out & Church Service at Red Willow Boys & Girls Camp (May 23 & 24). Gates will open at 2 pm on Saturday and church service is at 11 am Sunday. Potluck lunch to follow.

Tuesday, May 5 is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Murdered and Missing Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).

On Sunday May 3 and Tuesday May 5, continue to raise your voices and speak out against colonization, racism, and the injustice of MMIWG2S

What can you do?

• Take time in worship to pray for action to end this epidemic of violence
• Hang a red dress outside your church and home as an act of public witness
• Participate in Red Dress activities in your community
• Support the United Church’s Healing Fund
