Yesterday, our amazing volunteers went above and beyond, serving with joyful hearts and helping make our Mission Centre a welcoming place for everyone who comes through our doors.

People come for food, but they receive so much more—kindness, compassion, community, and the hope of the Gospel. ❤️

School families need our help now more than ever. Today, we supported many families at Princess Elizabeth in Welland. Giving away over 2423 pounds of food ❤️

We are so thankful for Pete!
Pete is a true prayer warrior who faithfully comes to the Mission to pray, encourage, and love on those who are hurting and in need of care. He carries such a deep love for this community and a genuine desire to see people come to know, love, and serve God.

And if you know Pete, you’ve probably heard him say, “I got you covered.” Simple words — but with Pete, they mean so much more. They mean prayer. They mean compassion. They mean showing up, and carrying burdens with them.

At OAM, we deeply believe in the power of prayer, and Pete lives that out so faithfully every single day. 🙏

Bev & Alexi. Every Tuesday morning, Alexi eagerly arrives at Open Arms Mission, ready to serve. While his friends may be off doing other things, Alexi chooses to spend his time here — helping pack kids’ snack packs, chatting with clients, and, of course, sharing his love for Mario Kart and Wii games!

His mom, Bev, joined our volunteer team after retiring, hoping to give back in a meaningful way. She found more than she imagined — a warm, faith-based community that welcomed both her and Alexi with open arms.

“I’ve seen such incredible growth in his confidence,” Bev shares. “We’ve made real friends here. It’s a special place.”

We’re so grateful for this amazing duo and encourage you to join our OAM volunteer family — where everyone is valued, and every act of service makes a difference. 💙

Last week we were blessed to welcome Rachel and her homeschooling group to Open Arms Mission! They presented us with a generous donation raised through their performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
