This is chant from the Italian island of Corsica performed by the Idrîsî Ensemble of the UK.
It is a polyphonic (many voices) harmonized style choral tradition of singing into which improvisation can be added beneath and below the melody.
The images are from the historic Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Spyridon in the western region of same island in the village of Cargese.
