This weekend we will be hosting a food drive to help fill the tables of those who might need a little extra help on this season. It is our goal to fill up the Food bank truck that visits our community each Tuesday. If you would like to contribute, you are welcome to bring an item to Lincoln Road Chapel Monday to Friday from 9-4, or you can participate in our service of Thanksgiving this Sunday at 10:10am!

On September 30th, we honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the enduring impact of residential schools on families and communities.

As followers of Jesus, we believe that we belong and are caught up with the whole body of Christ in every time and place and we must acknowledge that this dark chapter of history is a dark chapter in our history. Those who bore allegiance to Jesus in word failed to carry it out in practice and the damage done in Indigenous communities betrayed them as valuable image bearers of the Almighty.

And so with humility we recognize that humans of every generation, continuing to wrestle with sinful desires, have the capacity to do harm to others. In this disconnect, these places which should not have been and should never be, we lament. We hold the sorrow of others out to the God who cares for the oppressed, the God who is near to the brokenhearted, the God who alone can bring healing.

May we learn and grow together, unafraid to speak truth, seek justice and pray for God’s shalom in every part of our nation.

For the month of June, we are challenging our Lincoln Road Chapel community to ride their bikes to church. Those who don’t have bikes are encouraged to walk, if they live within walking distance. This is a great opportunity to be environmental stewards, while getting in some physical activity!
