Our Story:
Dawn Valley’s story begins in the winter of 1966. Over the winter months the small congregation met together regularly in local community halls. Then on July 3, 1966 the first pastor was called to pastor the growing group of believers; with Rev. Charles Carlisle preaching the first service at the Bentpath Community Hall. On July 13, 1966 a tent meeting was begun on the farmland of Georg

e and Myrtle Moulton with Rev. After the tent meeting, the Community Hall was not available so the new church rented the deserted country schoolhouse (Knox School) for further Sunday services. The new pastor and wife moved into an apartment in Dresden which was owned by Ray and Blanche Unsworth on August 4, 1966. A meeting of the board was held on August 16, 1966 to consider the dilemma caused by the word that the old schoolhouse was to be sold. A fast and prayer meeting was held on September 7, 1966 and followed by a Society Meeting in which it was voted to build a new church on the corner of 21 side road and the First Concession on a lot donated by George and Myrtle Moulton. Over the years a number of pastors have served the Dawn Valley congregation: Rev. Charles Carlisle; Rev. Hubert Hotchkiss; Rev. Dale Shillington; Rev. Blake Jones; Rev. Joel Byer; Rev. Seth Wetherald and Rev. Joe Krohn (is the current pastor). At Dawn Valley you will find a committed group of believers who desire to love and serve Jesus and to grow in knowledge of Him. We are as our name suggests first a Bible church; meaning we read and study God’s Word for the purpose of obeying the principles of Holy Scripture. Secondly, we are Methodists, which means we believe that there is a method in serving Jesus Christ and that method involves a careful and sensitive heart in service of our God: at home, at church, at work and wherever we go, so that His name may be glorified. You have a friend at the Dawn Valley Bible Methodist Church!

Wed. Verse: "The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish" (Prov. 10:3)

This Proverb reminds us that the Lord will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, because He alone is the true provider and satisfier of our deepest needs. Many people search for fulfillment in success, possessions, relationships, or pleasure, only to discover that these things cannot nourish the soul. Jesus showed us the source of true satisfaction when He said that doing the Father's will was His food and strength. Even in seasons of trial, weakness, or spiritual dryness, God continues to feed His people through His Word, His presence, prayer, and fellowship with Him. The challenge for us is not whether God is providing, but whether we are coming to Him daily to receive the nourishment He freely offers.

On this day… June 7, 1913, Methodist evangelist George Bennard publicly introduced his beloved hymn, The Old Rugged Cross, during a revival meeting in Pokagon, Michigan. Bennard wrote the first verse after enduring ridicule while conducting evangelistic meetings, finding in Christ's cross both comfort and strength. Originally presented as a special song accompanied by a guitar, this simple hymn would go on to touch millions around the world.
