Ongoing Programs

Monthly Halaqah - Sh. Younus has a halaqah the second Saturday of every month. It will also be live streamed on our Facebook & Youtube pages, linked down below. For those who would like to catch up on past classes the halaqah recordings are available on the MYV Facebook & Youtube pages. The links are in the signature below. Refer to the monthly program calendar below for exact dates & times.

Men's Tajweed Class - All brothers 16 & up are invited to join us for our Beginners' Tajweed class with Ustadh Belaid Moa. It is held at Dar Al-Ihsan, the 1st and 3rd Saturday each month. Refer to the monthly program calendar below for exact dates & times.

Men's Social - We hold a men's social every month at Dar Al-Ihsan Islamic Centre. This provides an opportunity for all the brothers in the community to come together in an Islamic environment. It is held the last Saturday of every month. Refer to the monthly program calendar below for exact dates & times.

Introduction to Arabic for Adults

Join us for an engaging Introduction to Arabic class designed for brothers who want to begin their journey in learning and mastering how to read the Quran properly. This course uses a bottom-up approach, starting with the fundamental building blocks of Arabic, such as the alphabet, pronunciation, and basic grammar, to lay a solid foundation for further reading the Quran and other standard Arabic texts.

The course is taught by Dr. Belaid Moa, an experienced and passionate educator who makes language learning accessible and enjoyable. With a focus on practical skills, participants will develop the ability to read, write, and understand basic Arabic phrases and expressions.

This is a perfect opportunity for any brothers looking to explore Arabic. No prior knowledge of Arabic is required!

This engaging and supportive math & physics tutoring class is designed to help high school students from Grades 9-12 build confidence and excel in their mathematics studies. Whether you’re preparing for exams, tackling challenging topics, or aiming to strengthen your foundational skills, this class provides personalized guidance tailored to your needs. Tutoring will be delivered by Dr. Belaid Moa, an esteemed Adjunct Professor at UVIC.

What’s Included:
Comprehensive review of core high school math & physics topics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and more.
Problem-solving strategies and exam preparation tips.
Small group setting to encourage active participation and focused learning.
One-on-one support for individual questions and challenges
Fees are per class. Please choose each separate date you wish to register for upon registration. Limited spots available!

Men's Qur'an (Tajweed) class

Our bi-weekly Qur'an Tajweed (Recitation) classes are continuing on the first and third Saturday of each month. The next scheduled Tajweed class will take place this Saturday, June 6th In Sha' Allah, one hour before Maghrib.

We invite brothers, 16 and older, to join us in raising our status with the preservation and recitation of the Book of Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) under the instruction of Ustadh Belaid Moa for these classes.

Location: Dar al-Ihsan Islamic Centre ( #206, 2504 Government St)
When: 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month
Time: 1 hour before Maghrib (8pm)

Sisters Swim

The Muslim Youth of Victoria invites sisters, 12 and up, to the next women's-only swimming of 2026, this Saturday, June 6th, at Gordon Head Rec Centre. There is no registration necessary. Make sure to come & have your free private swim session! We ask all sisters to arrive by 9pm to have time to prepare and store their belongings, and make the most of the swim time available.

Please be sure to bring only modest swimwear. No bikini tops or see-thru shirts.

This event is FREE !

Location: Gordon Head Rec Centre (4100 Lambrick Way)
Date: Saturday, June 6th
Time: 9pm - 11pm
