St Mary of the Incarnation is our active parish located at 4125 Metchosin Road next to Witty's Beach Parking lot and across the street from the Metchosin Golf Course. We are within the Greater Victoria regional municipality of Metchosin. We are a member parish of the Anglican Church of Canada and regionally we are a part of the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia. Our diocesan web site offers a s

uccinct set of statements about who we are as a church and as a part of the whole body of Christ. Our original historic church building, St Mary the Virgin is located at 4354 Metchosin Rd near the junction of Happy Valley Rd just east of the My Chosin Cafe. This original parish site is known for the wild lilies which cover the ground in the spring. Mary the Virgin was built and consecrated in Metchosin in 1873 and was used continuously as the Anglican parish church until 1991 when the church of St. Mary of the Incarnation was built and consecrated. The congregation subsequently moved to its new location at 4125 Metchosin Rd. St Mary the Virgin is maintained as an historical site and is periodically used for church services, weddings, funerals, and other events as required. The cemetery is not only an historical site but it is still being used for burials today. A dedicated group of local volunteers maintain the buildings and grounds on a year round basis. The current congregation of St Mary of the Incarnation and the Diocese of British Columbia manage this historical site. Please use the various links and sub-links to find out more about our parish community. Eucharist and family service is held at 9:00 am Sunday morning

September 30 - Truth and Reconciliation Day - is a solemn reminder of the past injustices faced by Indigenous peoples and a call to action for us all to strive for a more inclusive and respectful future.

At St. Mary’s, we are committed to walking this path of reconciliation. We acknowledge the traditional lands of the Scia’new people on which we gather and pledge to continue our journey towards healing and understanding.

Join us in reflecting on our shared history and in taking meaningful steps towards reconciliation. Together, we can build a future rooted in truth, respect, and unity.

On New Year’s Eve St Mary’s will be holding its first ever Taizé Service and you are invited to join us. The service is from 7pm until 8pm and promises to offer you the opportunity to reflect on the year past and the year ahead. We’d love to see you there and to welcome you into the church

What is a Taizé Service?
The Taizé service is marked by its depth and by its simplicity. Time is suspended in a Taizé service. Silence is a central part of this service and is a gift to those leading busy, hectic lives. It provides an opportunity to commune with God through the heart and bring a measure of peace to one’s mind and spirit. The service consists of singing with periods of silent meditation, prayers of intercession, and readings from the Psalms and Gospels.
