From The Pulpit for May 28, 2026:

The sermon for Trinity Sunday is entitled “The Hunger for God.” This sermon reflects on Jesus’ call to “make disciples,” showing that discipleship is not about pressure, fear, or coercion. Through personal story and biblical teaching, it invites us to consider a
more faithful way of sharing Christ—through love, grace, welcome, and patient teaching. It reminds us that faith grows when people are given room to respond freely, and that the church is called to help people deepen their understanding of God and grow in following Jesus.

From the Pulpit on Thursday, May 21, 2026:

For Pentecost Sunday the sermon is entitled
"Footprints at the Door." This sermon explores the
wonder and vastness of God’s work, while
reminding us that every person is deeply loved and
valued. Through moving stories and the witness of
the early church, it asks how we can share Christ’s
love in ways people can truly understand. It offers a
message about belonging, compassion, and the
footprints of faith at one another’s door.

From the Pulpit:

This Sunday, for Ascension Day, the sermon title is “Learning to Walk Downhill.”

On a recent trip to the island of Madeira, the
Reverend Wes Denyer learned that walking
downhill can be just as hard, if not harder, than
climbing up. Often, we use climbing imagery to
describe our lives and ambitions, but is it possible
our journey is not mainly about rising to spiritual or
worldly heights, but about coming down into service,
humility, and the ordinary needs of others.

As we read the story of the Ascension of Jesus, we
discover that the disciples are called not to keep
looking up, but to return to the world below, where
the Spirit meets people in compassion, community,
and love.

Thinking ahead to May 3rd’s Sermon. All are welcome.

From the Pulpit:

1 Corinthians 13 is often used at weddings, yet it is
really about the “more excellent way” of living as
mature Christians in community.

In this week's sermon, we reflect on how growing up
in faith can mean losing childlike idealism and
seeing God only “in a mirror dimly.” But the Apostle
Paul insists the heart of Christian life is not
impressive gifts, faith, or hope—it is agape, God’s
unconditional love.

Is it possible that love is already present in us, and
people’s lives are most changed by ordinary
believers who embody it?
