The revelation of the Trinity. ✨

Lining the sanctuary at St. Philip is an incredible 13-panel geometric stained glass mural.

Commissioned in 1975, this heroic piece of art was created by the renowned Canadian artist Dr. Mary Filer. The design brings to life a powerful moment from John’s Gospel when our namesake, the apostle Philip, asks Jesus: “Show us the Father.”

In the centre panel, Christ’s glory of the cross shines its light into the universe, while the presence of God the Father rests up on the right, and the orb of the Holy Spirit sits down on the left.

Next time you join us for a service or drop by for a quiet moment of prayer, take a look at how the shifting natural light transforms the image throughout the day.

It’s a beautiful part of our place of worship.

☀️ Join us for our parish picnic!

Coming up on June 14 (after the 9:30am service) we will gather on the church lawn for good food and good company.

Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, and anything else that helps you enjoy a sunny day outdoors. There will be plenty of time to connect, catch up, and enjoy the gift of community.

We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones.

Drawing on the life and insights of St. Augustine, Smith examines the restless search for meaning that seems to mark every generation, including our own. What are we really looking for? What shapes our desires? And where is true fulfillment found?

Christ is at the heart of all these questions… but what that means… now THAT’s a really BIG question.

💭Looking for a community where you can ask honest questions?

For the past 20 years, Mike Pipes has called St. Philip in Oak Bay home.

What first drew him here was simple. The people. A welcoming community, thoughtful conversation, and a shared desire to genuinely wrestle with faith, scripture, and theology together.

For Mike, returning to the Anglican tradition felt like returning to his roots. And over the years, it’s the friendships, the discussions, and the shared journey of seeking understanding that have kept him here.
