Announcement of Bishop Elect, Date Set
The Very Reverend Father Kipp D Trembley, at the request of His Grace The Most Revered Allen Jones, Bishop of Vancouver Island, Metropolitan of The Catholic Apostolic Church, and upon the election by his peers on July 28, 2022, will be ordained to the episcopate at Victoria, BC, Canada, September 23, 2023. This appointment is intended to fill a need for an Auxiliary Bishop, facilitating the growth of the church, and the episcopal reach of our Presiding Bishop.
Father Kipp has served The Catholic Apostolic Church in varying capacities since his initial ordinations to the Deaconate and the Holy Priesthood in 2017. Since then he has served as an advisor and assistant to the Presiding Bishop of TCAC, filling the roll of Vicar General. Fr Kipp has also served in the church’s vocations committee both as a committee voice and as a psych evaluator. Parish and religious order initiatives, interrupted by the Covid event, are under current consideration. Other ministries include a Professed eremitic Franciscan vocation to religious and contemplative discipline and prayer, as well as providing free mental health counseling and pastoral care and counseling to underprivileged people.
Father Kipp grew up in both the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY, and the suburbs of Manhattan, NYC. He was raised in the Unitarian Universalist, Quaker, and Episcopalian traditions simultaneously by his anti-nuke activist father, who was also a psychologist by profession. Fr Kipp spent many years in the labor and service industries, construction and carpentry, sales, entertainment, wildlife biology and histology, Caregiving and nursing assisting, as well as volunteering to work with disenfranchised youth in Manhattan in 1988, pro-life activism in 1988, nursing home ministry in 1988-1990, TEC Teens Encounter Christ retreat counselor 1988 – 1990, environmental activist work to include illegal logging surveillance and wildlife rehabilitation 1999 – 2004, and anti-war activism. Fr Kipp also spent many years as a Pagan Druid, where he gained experience in ritual composition and ex*****on, death and dying counseling/pastoral care, human ecology ministries, and interfaith work. Fr Kipp participated in the UNESCO International Conference on Unity and Diversity, Seattle, WA, in 2005, pursuing dialogue with scholars from diverse cultures and religions. Fr Kipp also earned a Professional Certificate in Criminal and Civil Private Investigation from the University of Washington in 2017, having since participated in investigation work, as well as providing contracted armed Defense-of-Life work at Jewish synagogues. Fr. Kipp’s clinical psychotherapy practice is conducted via telehealth, in-office, home visits, and nursing home visits. He focuses on Developmental Disabilities, Elder mental health, PTSD, depression and anxiety, and grief and loss. Fr Kipp brings a lifetime of diverse experience, all of which he brings to bear on his vocation as a priest and friar, and profession as a psychotherapist.
Fr Kipp’s relevant education includes elementary ancient and biblical Greek and Latin, Death and Dying, Shamanic Studies and Consciousness Studies, Mythology, meditation training with Zen monks and Tibetan practitioners, Tai Chi and transcendental meditation at an Ashram, Iaido practice, and more. He graduated with his BA in Liberal Arts from Western Washington University, with an independent study focus on Ecology and Spirituality, and Professional Certificate in Advanced Hypnotherapy, both in 2005; MA in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University/Seattle in 2009; Education for Ministry Certificate from Sewanee School of Theology, University of the South in 2017, a four year applied theology course spanning the Old and New Testaments, Christian history and theologies; MA in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, Sofia University in 2017, where his spiritual consciousness studies took him through a cross-cultural journey in the worlds’ various religious psychological systems.
Having, on August 13, 2022, made his Life Profession to the eremitic Franciscan charism, Fr Kipp intends, by Grace of God, once raised to the episcopate, to continue his ministries in service to Christ as a simple friar and priest, responding to calls to perform his auxiliary episcopal duties as needed.
