FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16 — TOMORROW'S MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

Scripture: James 1:5 CSB

Heavenly Father, tomorrow British Columbians across our province will choose those who will serve in local government. Today we pray for every voter, every candidate and every election worker preparing for Election Day. Give us wisdom as we consider those seeking to serve. Help us look beyond signs, slogans and personalities and to consider personal character, priorities, experience and the needs of our individual communities. We pray for peaceful and respectful elections throughout British Columbia and for everyone working to ensure the voting process is conducted fairly and with integrity. For those who have not yet voted, remind them that participating in our democracy is both a privilege and a responsibility. And when tomorrow's votes have been counted, help us come together again in unity as neighbors.God bless our mayors, councillors, school trustees and all who will serve our communities. God bless our cities and towns and those who dwell in them, and God bless British Columbia. In Jesus' name, Amen.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 — OUR SCHOOLS, CHILDREN & SCHOOL TRUSTEES

Scripture: James 3:17 CSB

Heavenly Father, today we pray for the children and young people of British Columbia and for the schools in which they learn and grow. Give our teachers, administrators and support staff wisdom, patience and compassion as they carry the tremendous responsibility of educating the next generation. In a culture filled with competing voices and ideas about identity, sexuality, relationships and what it means to flourish, give our children wisdom and discernment. Protect their hearts and minds, preserve their innocence, and help them grow in truth, confidence and compassion. May our schools be places where every student is treated with dignity and kindness, where bullying and discrimination have no place, and where children can learn without fear. We pray for parents, asking that their important role in the lives and education of their children would be respected and strengthened. Give families and educators grace to listen to one another and courage to navigate difficult conversations with honesty and respect. And as British Columbians prepare to elect school trustees, raise up men and women of wisdom, integrity and sound judgment. Give them the courage to ask difficult questions, steward our schools responsibly, respect the diverse families they serve, and always keep the well-being of children at the centre of their decisions. Lord, watch over our children, guard them, and protect them. Give those entrusted with their education wisdom to recognize what is true, what is good and what will help them to flourish. In Jesus' name, Amen.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 — Debate Night in BC

Scripture: Proverbs 16:13 CSB

Gracious God, as BC’s political leaders come together for tonight’s televised debate, we lift them before You in prayer. Give each leader wisdom, clarity of thought and the courage to speak with honesty and integrity. May tonight’s debate rise above personal attacks and political rhetoric, giving British Columbians a clearer understanding of the issues, challenges and choices before us. We also pray for those watching. Give voters discernment to look beyond personalities and promises, to consider carefully what is being said, and to seek wisdom as they prepare to cast their ballots. Lord, may this evening contribute to a healthy democratic process, and may You raise up men and women of wisdom, integrity and honour to lead our province. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13 — OUR CITIES, TOWNS & COMMUNITIES

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:7 CSB

Heavenly Father, today we pray for the cities, towns, villages and communities that together make up British Columbia. Thank You for the places we call home and for the neighbours with whom we share them. We pray for communities experiencing rapid growth and others facing economic uncertainty or decline. We remember our large cities, small towns, rural and remote communities, and the unique challenges each one faces. Give local leaders wisdom as they make decisions about housing, transportation, infrastructure, public spaces and the services people depend upon each and every day. Help us to be good neighbours who contribute to the well-being of the places where we live. May our communities be safe, welcoming and flourishing places to call home. In Jesus' name, Amen.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 12 — THANKSGIVING: GRATITUDE FOR BRITISH COLUMBIA

Scripture: James 1:17 CSB

Father, on this Thanksgiving Monday, we pause simply to say thank You. Thank You for British Columbia — its mountains and oceans, forests and farmland, cities and small communities, and the extraordinary diversity of people who call this province home. Thank You for freedom, opportunity and peace. Even as we recognize the challenges before us, keep us from becoming a people defined only by complaint. Give us grateful hearts and remind us of how much we have been given, we recognize that every good gift comes from You. Thank you for the gift of calling British Columbia home and may gratitude shape the way we pray, speak and live in this beautiful province. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you that British Columbia has public monetary resources that support the wellness and growth of this province. We pray for wisdom and accountability in the stewardship of British Columbia's public finances. Give those entrusted with public resources discipline and integrity. Help governments establish wise priorities. May they plan beyond the immediate moment and carefully weigh both present needs and future obligations. Protect public resources from waste and misuse. Give those elected to lead us the courage to make difficult decisions when necessary and the prudence to steward responsibly what has been entrusted to them. In Jesus' name, Amen.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6 — CHILDREN & YOUTH

Scripture: Proverbs 22:6

Lord, we pray for the children and youth of British Columbia. Protect them from exploitation, violence, addiction and despair. Surround them with adults who will love them, guide them and speak hope into their lives. And may the children obey and honour these adults. Give parents the discernment and confidence in raising their children. Also, give coaches, pastors, youth workers and other trusted adults grace as they help shape the next generation. May every child know that his or her life has dignity and meaning. In Jesus' name, Amen.
