We pray, God, that You would use him for Your plans and purposes. Help him to be guided by Your wisdom and Your knowledge. Mandeep Dhaliwal is the MLA for Surrey North and the Official Opposition Critic for Parental Rights and Sports. He was first elected in 2024.

His roots in social services sprouted in India, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in group humanity. After transitioning to Canada, Mandeep became a small business owner, establishing Fixman Auto Glass Repair and Fixman Auto Glass Supplier in Surrey. Mandeep immigrated to Surrey with his family in his mid-20s.

Heavenly Father, we give thanks today for MLA Dew and his family. We pray for the peace of Your presence to permeate every aspect of his constituency. Give him wisdom to apply what he has learned in his career to the work of helping govern our province. Lord, we thank You for all You’ve done and all You will continue to do in Gavin’s life. Gavin Dew is the MLA for Kelowna-Mission and the Official Opposition Critic for Jobs, Economic Development, Innovation, and AI. He was first elected in 2024.

Gavin’s career spans two decades at the intersection of business, public policy, and technology. Most recently, Gavin served as Chief Strategy Officer for a $5 billion agricultural innovation and food security project in BC. He also has a BA from UBC and an MBA from the University of Oxford, where he focused on corporate social responsibility. Gavin is a young father raising two young children with his wife Erin in Kelowna.

Brennan Day is the MLA for Courtenay-Comox and the Official Opposition Critic for Rural Health and Senior’s Health. He was first elected in 2024.

Brennan’s background includes managing large-scale international projects and founding a successful industrial supply, manpower, and training firm. Before focusing on community service, Brennan built a career in international project management and business. Prior to becoming an elected official, he served as the Executive Director of the Eureka Support Society. He has deep-seated roots and commitment to the Comox Valley.

Pete Davis is the MLA for Kootenay-Rockies and the Official Opposition Critic for Mining and Critical Minerals. He was first elected in 2024. He has extensive experience across various sectors including logging, forestry, automotive, heavy equipment, and mining.

Pete hails from Revelstoke and was raised in Cranbrook. Married to Heather since 2002, they are proud parents to four children and are dedicated to their life in the Kootenay region.

Give her wisdom in all the decisions set before her today. Lord, thank You for Tamara’s stewardship and willingness to serve her community and province. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Tamara Davidson (Haida name Laanas) was elected MLA for North Coast-Haida Gwaii in 2024. She is the Minister for Environment and Parks. Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly, Tamara worked within the federal public service for over 25 years in various areas including land management, Indigenous relations, and tourism. Tamara was also an elected representative of the Council of the Haida Nation and played an instrumental role in the Haida Nation Recognition Act. She also served as a previous board member with the First Peoples’ Cultural Foundation, First Peoples’ Council, Haida Enterprise Corporation, Coast Opportunity Fund, and Rediscovery Culture Camp.

Tamara is the first Indigenous woman to represent North Coast-Haida Gwaii. She lives in Skidegate on Haida Gwaii.

Sheldon Clare is the MLA for Prince George-North Cariboo and Official Opposition Critic for Environment, Parks, Emergency Management & Climate Readiness. He was first elected in 2024.

Since 1993, Sheldon has been an integral part of the College of New Caledonia. His dedication goes beyond teaching, as he served as a contract negotiator for 12 years. He also served six terms as the chair of the provincial Bargaining Co-ordination Committee. Sheldon was born and raised in Prince George and is a loving father to his two daughters Elise and Danielle.

George Chow was first elected as the MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview in 2017. He is the Parliamentary Secretary for the Downtown Eastside and Chinatown to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. George previously served as the Parliamentary Secretary for International Credentials, Minister of State for Trade, and Minister of Citizens’ Services. Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly, George served two terms on Vancouver City Council.

Born in China, he completed primary school in Hong Kong and settled in Vancouver in 1965. George grew up in the Downtown Eastside and attended Britannia and Gladstone Secondary Schools. He graduated from UBC in mechanical engineering in 1975 and had a 30-year career with BC Hydro in power generation.

He also served on many community organizations as a volunteer including: the Urban Spirit Foundation, Vancouver Public Library Board, Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver, Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast B.C., Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver, Vancouver Chinatown Merchants Association, S.U.C.C.E.S.S., and various family associations. He was actively involved with the building of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Vancouver’s Chinatown during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly
Today, we pray for Mr. Speaker, Hon. Raj Chouhan. Give him ears to hear the whispers among the shouts. Give him the heart to elevate the voices that need to be heard. Grant him wisdom and strength as he administers decorum. May he be an example to all, speaking with grace and calmness. Father, be with Raj and remind him that You are near. May he hear Your voice in the still moments of the day. Lord, in Your power, hear our prayer. Amen.

Raj Chouhan was first elected as the MLA for Burnaby-Edmonds (now Burnaby-New Westminster) in 2005. He served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in the 42nd Parliament, and re-elected as Speaker for the current 43rd Parliament. Previously, Raj served as Official Opposition Spokesperson for labour, human rights, multiculturalism and immigration.

Raj immigrated to Canada in 1973. As a student in India, Raj was actively involved in student union activities. Raj is the founding president of the Canadian Farmworkers’ Union and served as the director of bargaining for the Hospital Employees Union for 18 years. Raj also served as a member of the Labour Relations Board of B.C. and the Arbitration Bureau of B.C.

Raj is a founding member of the B.C. Organization to Fight Racism and has served as the vice-president of the B.C. Human Rights Defenders. He has taught courses on human rights, the B.C. Labour Code and collective bargaining since 1987.

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for MLA Paul Choi of Burnaby South–Metrotown and his work as Parliamentary Secretary of Trade. We know the work You have called him to is important and needed in these times. Would You please give him Your wisdom and knowledge to lead British Columbia well and help him to prosper in his work. Give him innovative ideas and help him lead with honour and integrity. We also pray, God, that You would carry his burdens and help guide him in all that he does. We thank You that You are our burden-bearer. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Paul Choi was elected as the MLA for Burnaby South-Metrotown in 2024. He is the Parliamentary Secretary for Trade to the Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth. Paul previously served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Asia-Pacific Trade.

Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly, Paul served as a first responder, small business owner, and lawyer. He is a Qualified Mediator and Arbitrator, licensed by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada, and an executive member of the Criminal Justice Section of the Canadian Bar Association. Paul also held leadership roles in Burnaby, including as the President of the Burnaby North Road Business Improvement Association and as a member of the Board of Governors at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Additionally, he served as Vice-Chair of the Registration Committee for the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.

Break down any stumbling blocks in Jesus’ name. Lord, thank You for Your wisdom. You know exactly what is needed in every situation. We pray for increased faith and favour in this season. We also pray for protection and blessing over Bruce and his family. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Brent Chapman is the MLA for Surrey South and the Official Opposition Critic for Transit and ICBC. He was first elected in 2024. He is a seasoned professional within the realms of acting, producing, broadcasting, writing and voice coaching, as well as a long-time advocate on behalf of the South Surrey community.
