Pastor Lee & Michelle Loveridge are excited to begin this new chapter of ministry with the people of St. John’s in Vernon.
Lee was born & raised in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, while Michelle grew up in Sherwood Park, Alberta. They met while attending university in Edmonton & have now been happily married for 33 years.
Originally, Lee dreamed of a career that would let him play games for a living, earning a degree in Recreation Administration, while Michelle pursued her calling as an educator. After spending a year teaching at a Christian school in Guatemala, the Lord redirected their path, leading Lee to study for pastoral ministry at Concordia Seminary in Edmonton. During seminary, he completed his vicarage at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Calgary under the supervision of Pastor Michael Dorn.
Those seminary years also brought two of life’s greatest blessings with the births of their daughters, Jesse-Anne, who now lives in Kamloops, & Emma, now married to Paul & living in Lethbridge.
Over the past 26 years, the Lord has led the Loveridges to serve congregations in Lappe (Thunder Bay), St. Albert, Kelowna, & Lethbridge. Along the way they have been blessed by countless friendships & opportunities to share the love of Jesus with people of all ages.
When they’re not serving in ministry, Michelle enjoys hiking, travelling, discovering new wines, exploring health & wellness, & putting her natural talent for interior decorating to work in creating warm & welcoming spaces. She also loves spoiling their two black cats, Oliver & Stuart. Lee is an enthusiastic pickleball player, cycles almost everywhere, & enjoys challenging himself with the occasional half marathon, especially the BMO Vancouver Marathon weekend each spring. Together they also enjoy escaping to Mexico for some sunshine, sandy beaches, and a little rest & relaxation.
Pastor Lee & Michelle are grateful for God’s faithful leading throughout their journey & look forward to getting to know the St. John’s family & sharing the love of Jesus with the Vernon Community.
