The Islamic Information Community Centre of York (IICCY) is an independent, non-profit community organization responsible for promoting the needs and interests of the growing Muslim population of Vaughan, Ontario. IICCY has been holding regular Jum’a prayers at Vellore Village Community Centre since October 2011. After a great deal of hard work, we are pleased to announce that with the blessing of

Almighty Allah (SWT), we had lease a 1550 sq. unit to serve as our new Community Centre & Mussala @ 9000 Weston Road Unit 2-A, Woodbridge ON. As this Centre will be furnished for our needs, we will be able to provide many programs of interest to our Muslim brothers & sisters. We are kindly requesting all brothers and sisters, especially the youth to come forward and volunteer to ensure the success of our project. Our goal is to make this place available by April 6th 2012. We humbly request all to donate generously for this house of Allah. Allah will award you in this life and the hereafter many times over. Whether your time, financial contribution or other assistance, we are in urgent need of your effort for this project. Insha’Allah with your help, this project will become easy for us. Please spread these words to your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. If anyone wishes to provide Qarz-e-Hasanah, please let us know.

O people! We created you from a male and a female, and made you races and tribes, that you may know one another. The best among you in the sight of God is the most righteous. God is All-Knowing, Well-Experienced.

In Islamic tradition, a "blessed wedding" (Nikah) emphasizes simplicity and sincerity, while the "worst Walima" (wedding feast) involves inviting only the rich and excluding the poor, which is discouraged; a truly blessed Walima is simple, includes everyone (poor and rich), avoids extravagance and haram practices (like free mixing), and focuses on gratitude, community, and following the Sunnah (Prophet's practice). The core idea is generosity and announcing the marriage, not ostentation, with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encouraging even a feast with just one sheep, stressing sincerity over show-off.
