Chag Sukkot Sameach! If you haven't yet registered for tomorrow night's Sippin' in the Sukkah event, it's not too late!

Sisterhood of Temple Sholom is inviting all women of our congregation to jour 8th Annual Sippin’ in the Sukkah. Let's start the new year together with a nosh and a drink under the Sukkah, as we shake the lulav and smell the aromatic etrog.

Doors open at 7:00 pm, with plenty of time to meet and mingle with all generations of Sisterhood members, followed by a lovely Havdalah Service at 8:00 pm led by Cantor Cohen.

This fun event is free of charge but please register so we know how much food to prepare. Please indicate on the registration form if you have any food allergies or restrictions. Bring a bottle of wine to share and mingle!

Candlelit Jazz Concert with Annette and Friends
When: Saturday, Jan 18 at 7:30pm
Where: Temple Sholom
Tickets: $36 (fundraising support for camperships!)

Join us for an evening of candlelit jazz, featuring Annette Kozicki and friends! Sisterhood's theme of the year is "Be the Light" and we hope to chase the winter darkness away with some gorgeous music while raising funds for a great cause. All proceeds will go towards Temple Sholom's "camperships," which help our families with the cost of sending their children to Jewish summer camp.

Every year Sisterhood contributes at least $3,500.00 to help send our Temple Sholom community to summer camp. Our goal this year is to raise $5,000! In 2024, the synagogue distributed a total of $19,960 for 71 campers. The proceeds from the concert ticket sales will go to the campership fund and help give children the unforgettable experience of Jewish summer camp.

Soup Shvesters is Coming Back!
Next meeting: Monday, October 28 at 10:30 am
in the Temple Sholom Kitchen

Volunteers are needed to join us once a month for cooking scrumptious soup and further down the line we will need a few mensches with vehicles to deliver the soup to those in need.

At this coming Monday's meeting we will go over which soup we want to make and assign volunteers for shopping and other duties. If you can't make it to the first meeting don't worry, you can join for the next one!

Email Reesa Devlin and/or [email protected] to get involved in this wonderful Sisterhood tradition!

Everyone is invited to join Sisterhood and be part of a growing global movement called Repair the Sea (Tikkun HaYam), casting off and cleaning up before the traditional Tashlich ceremony.

We’ll volunteer together as a team to help remove human “sin” from the water, in the form of plastic and other debris. Last year, more than 4,000 Jews and allies in 300 communities across the world in 23 different countries took part in Reverse Tashlich teams, removing almost 12 tons of trash from the sea!

Free to attend, but please RSVP here: https://www.templesholom.ca/reverse-tashlich-beach-clean-up-project/
