Sat. Feb. 21 (9:30 am - 4:30 pm): "Breaking the Fetters" day retreat
Join us for the next day retreat in the "Taste of Freedom" series , as we explore the Udanas through the lens of the fetters (habit, vagueness, superficiality). The fetters are markers of spiritual growth, which need to be broken. As we refine our awareness, we see more clearly how things really are. On Nov. 1st, we participated in "Wisdom of Water & Trees", at the TWN Watch House on Burnaby Mountain. The inter-faith gathering was hosted by the Prayer Circle Action Group with Salal & Cedar, and by Watch House elder, Jim Leyden.

The morning balanced action with reflection, and explored themes of reciprocity and ecology. We enhanced the area for wildlife and humans by planting native plants and medicines. The planting was framed in ceremony, with continuous mantra protecting our minds from idle chatter!

The event invited us to deepen our understanding and appreciation of the other relations who have lived on these lands since time immemorial. So much gratitude!

So grateful for the energy and generosity of our sangha friend! Please support Christine if you have the means. We operate on the generosity economy, and every gift is meaningful. May her efforts benefit all beings, and our sangha, too!
