๐ŸŒฒ The second gathering of Ecological Grief in Action: Mourning and Protecting BCโ€™s Old Growth Forests is coming up soon.

We will meet in the presence of the forest itself โ€” to reflect, to remember, to offer prayers and intentions, and to be in relationship with the living world that sustains us all.

This outdoor pilgrimage invites us to move beyond words and into presence: listening to the land, honouring what is being lost, and holding space for what can still be protected.

If you feel called to join us in this moment of connection, grief, and care for BCโ€™s old-growth forests, you are warmly welcome.

๐ŸŒฒ What does it mean to grieve a forest?

Across BC, ancient old-growth forests are being lost at an alarming rate. Many people are carrying heartbreak, anger, helplessness, and uncertainty about what can be done.

We invite you into a different kind of gathering โ€” one rooted in community, reflection, Indigenous wisdom, prayer, and action.

Together, we will make space for ecological grief, deepen our relationship with the land, and explore how care for the Earth can become a shared spiritual and collective practice.

๐ŸŒฒ Ecological Grief in Action: Mourning and Protecting BC's Old Growth Forests

BC's ancient old-growth forests are disappearing. Many of us feel the weight of that loss โ€” quietly, deeply โ€” without always knowing how to hold it or what to do with it.
This May, Living Interfaith Sanctuary and Sierra Club BC invite you to come together for a two-part community workshop. A space to grieve honestly. To listen to Indigenous wisdom and teachings. To reflect across faith traditions. And to ask what it truly means to protect what remains.

We are honoured to be welcoming Indigenous Elders to offer welcome, guidance, and teachings as we gather in this spirit of good relations on the lands we share.
