Important: Please make sure to bring good hiking shoes for the rough terrain, a headlamp or flashlight, a sleeping bag and/or blanket and a towel. It gets cooler in Oct on the mountain.

Ferry pick ups: The 5:10 pm ferry from Swartz Bay to Fulford Harbour is best and arrives at 5:45 pm. However, There is also a 3:30 pm from Swaryz Bay that can be accommodated by KDOL staff if need be.

Hi Everyone,

Reminder of the Guru Rinpoche retreat with Lama Tenzin this coming weekend. Come (if you can) for this wonderful practice that has the power to clear all obstacles and bestows all siddhis.

It starts Friday Sept 26th at 6:45 pm with a light dinner, until Monday morning. Monday morning. Pick up to go to the KDOL retreat land on Mt Tuam (Salt Spring Island) is from Fulford Harbour. The 5:10 pm ferry from Swartz Bay to Fulford Harbour is best (arrival 5:45 pm). However there is also a 3:30 pm from Swartz bay to Fulford Harbour that KDOL staff can easily accommodate.

The cost is $375 for the program which also includes pick up and drop off from ferry at Fulford Harbour, meals, & accommodation, at a beautiful peaceful place. Bring a sleeping bag or blanket, flashlight, warm sweater and socks (evenings can get cool), good walking shoes.

If planning to come to the retreat with your own vehicle, we would advise making ferry reservations well before the retreat, especially during the busy summer ferry season.

Lama Tenzin

Lama Tenzin was born in Nepal and joined Samdrub Dhargay Choling Monastery, Sonada in 1989.

He received full-ordained monks vows from the previous Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche and received all instructions and empowerments in the Shangpa Kagyu tradition.

He joined the three-year retreat centre at Lava, near Kalimpong, India, under the guidance of H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.

In 2012, Lama Tenzin completed his 3 year retreat and took up various responsibilities, including Chanting Master (“Omze”) and Vajra Master (“Dorje Lopon”) along with many other tasks at the Salagura Stupa Drodon Kunchab Chodey.

In 2015, Lama Tenzin was invited to Canada, as the Resident Teacher at KDOL, Niguma Meditation Centre’s retreat centre on Saltspring Island.
