“When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subside and our mind becomes still a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.”

Happy Tara Day! ✨

Tara is the female Buddha of active compassion who, as the manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas, is known as the “Mother of the Conquerors”. She is also known as the “Great Liberator” who pacifies all sickness, poverty, misfortune, fighting, and quarrelling, and causes the Dharma and all good fortune to flourish.

Kadampa Buddhists have a special relationship with Arya Tara because she promised Atisha she would protect his followers in the future.

Liberation from Sorrow
Praises and requests to the Twenty-one Taras

“If we recite the twenty-one verses of praise, we will receive inconceivable benefits. These praises are very powerful because they are Sutra, the actual words of Buddha. It is good to recite them as often as we can.”

🌼 Special Event for Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day & the Birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche - JUNE 4, THURSDAY

FREE for Everyone | Drop-ins welcome | Available via livestream for members | Suitable for beginners

Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la, our root Guru and Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. But on this auspicious day, June 4 (Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day), at Kadampa centres around the world, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra over the course of one-day. Everyone is welcome to take part.

Gen Sanden will give a short explanation of the first prayer practice at 9:00am, at the beginning of this special event. Besides that each session is the same unguided prayer practice together, creating wonderful causes, offering our faith to our precious Guru and Founder.

Event Schedule
June 4
Session 1: 9:00am – 10:30pm
Session 2: 11:30 – 12:45pm
Session 3: 4:30 – 5:45pm
