The Lord has prepared the table that ends hostility. It is a table full of peace, dignity, and security. It is a table baptized with love and grace. He prepared the table that ends displacement. After a journey searching for dignity, love, and safety, we found the Lord. We climbed the mountain of the Lord, victorious over death and drinking the cup of salvation. We are now in an eternal relationship with the Lord.

This Sunday: We are honoured to welcome Dr. Yohanna Katanacho as he launches our new series, A Vision of Peace, with a message from Psalm 23: “Peace in the Presence of the Shepherd.”

Pray that as we gather, the Spirit would open our hearts to encounter God and receive the deep, restoring peace that only the Good Shepherd can give.

Join us this coming Monday June 1, 7pm, for a special evening as we read the entire Letter to Ephesians together as a church. Following past readings of John and Micah, this is another meaningful opportunity to experience Paul’s letters as it was originally shared—read aloud in its entirety.

After the reading, Pastor Drew and Pastor David will discuss the letter’s context and key themes, followed by a Q&A. We’d love for you to join us!

Pentecost Sunday

If we want the kind of unity through diversity that the Spirit brings, we have to be willing to be misunderstood, we have to admit that we misunderstand even when we try to understand.

If we want unity through diversity, we have to trust that when Joel 2 is read in Farsi or Hindi or Korean it is the word of the Lord, thanks be to God even though we don’t know the language.

If we want unity through diversity we have to embrace the unsettling of different cultures being together, different perspectives on the world being together, even different ways of relating to God being together.

If we want unity through diversity we have to be humble to say we do not see the whole picture, we don’t have all the pieces to the puzzle, others have parts that will move us all toward wholeness.

“Unity and Diversity in the Spirit”
Joel 2:28-32a

Our new sermon series, A Vision of Peace, explores Paul’s letter to the Ephesians and God’s call to peace, unity, and reconciliation in a divided world.

As part of the beginning of this series, we have the honour of hearing from Dr. Yohanna Katanacho on May 31. Dr. Katanacho's ministry and teaching in the context of the Israel–Palestine conflict offer a powerful witness to Christian peacemaking. Please pray for his time in Canada, his teaching at Regent College, and his ongoing work at Nazareth Evangelical College. Read more about the series:

War, conflict, hostility, and division are nearly as old as humanity itself. From the first stories of sin and brokenness in Genesis we learn that division is a direct result of not living according to God’s plan. Creation was meant to be...

God’s throne, God’s very Presence is open to us because of the ascension of our great High Priest.

In our time of need we are never alone, never lacking empathy and never lacking Someone who is able to help. Until Jesus returns we continue to be people who need mercy; who need grace. And the good news of the Ascension is that mercy and grace are freely available to us and we know where to find them.

Resurrection changes our relationship to creation and the way we care for creation. We won’t escape our bodies, our bodies will be resurrected. We won’t escape creation, creation will be rescued and restored. So we hope for that resurrection by acknowledging decay and destruction in our bodies and in creation, and we hope by imagining life and flourishing for our bodies and creation and living into that reality even now.

Today we celebrate and honour all mothers and mother figures for their love, sacrifice, strength, and endless care.

For those grieving, longing, hurting, or carrying unseen burdens, may today be filled with grace, comfort, love, and the reminder that no one walks alone.

May our church be a community where women of every generation are honoured, supported, and encouraged to flourish in Christ.
