"A warm Tashi Delek and Namaste. I'm Karma Pemba Tamang from S.M.D school. I hope everyone is doing great and feeling fit and fine.
It's been a year working at the monastery coffee shop (Thrangu cafe) in Namo Buddha and I love to work over here.
I want to say thank you my Rinpoche and my SMD family to give me opportunity study and giving me hope to do something in my life. I'm grateful to be part of SMD family."

TO ALL 2025 SEE GRADUATES FROM TSERING DOLKAR ON SCHOLARSHIP AT St. Margaret's School

I hope you're doing well! I'm doing great here—just keeping busy with spring sports. Excited to see you all in summer, 11 weeks more. COUNTING DOWN.

I’d like to connect with our recent Grade 10 graduates in Kathmandu who might be wondering how to make the most of their exam break. If Edulift is running a program this year, I suggest that they join.

I’d like to share some other activities that could be beneficial for Grade 11 or in general. I was thinking of organizing a Zoom call where we can have a casual chat. To make it more engaging, I could also host a Kahoot! quiz after our conversation. The session would last a maximum of one hour.

SIncerely,
Tsering Dolkar B14.20

Our Annual Quiz Night was a resounding success, with over 200 attendees filling the hall in support of The Saathi Project ®.

We’re delighted to announce that we exceeded our target, raising over CHF 20'000! 🎉 Thanks to the generous donations, the beautiful children of Shree Mangal Dvip School - Education for Himalayan Children will soon benefit from new equipment in their physics labs, fresh carpets in the Nursery and new playground equipment!

SMDers COME FROM ALL THE MOUNTAIN DISTRICTS OF NEPAL Though dress, language and culture vary somewhat, what unites us are the teachings of the Buddha. SMDers are ‘janajatis’ - ethnic groups: Sherpa, Tamang, Gurung, Lama et al. Ethnicity is often conflated with caste, but there is no caste in Buddhism.

Here’s a chart from Social Studies (when Tsering Dhondup B340a taught Socials) showing all the different ethnic groups’ styles.

Tara Abbey News Last fall, before the winter set in, a 'coming out' ceremony was held at Sher Gompa for the nuns who have been in retreat since 2021. Lama Ajo and Lama Yonten officiated and the nuns were honored by family members and other nuns who were able to make the trek. The nuns then reentered retreat for a few more months for the practice of Mahakala and will return to Tara Abbey when the spring weather permits. https://www.namobuddhacanada.org/post/tara-abbey-news-5.
