“Verily, Allah raises the status of people by this Book, and by it he degrades others.” Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 817
There's a feeling in the heart, a feeling which is indescribable connected to the people of the Quran. And perhaps, those who don't have a strong relationship with the Quran may never understand and appreciate such feeling. It's a great level of peace and contentment which gets engraved in the hearts of those who have a connection with Allah's Words. Happiness which many spend a fortune on through worldly means, but it only stays for a short period of time then passes. But Allah has given it to us as a gift, a gift which cost nothing yet so valuable and more lasting.
You see, Shaitan knows how powerful the Quran is. How much it can change a person and allow such individual to live a life of guidance, happiness and contentment. His goal is to get you away from it by any means. Whether by reminding you of tasks you need to get done first, or trying to convince you that you are still too young or too old to get yourself indulged with the Quran. Yet, many of us still have lots of free time to be on social media and waste time on numerous things which will not bring about benefit.
Imagine the life of one who memorizes the Quran, acts upon it and studies its meanings. Imagine the immense blessings such person receives in their lives. Quran is not just about reading or memorizing it. Yes, doing so is a great deed, but one must also contemplate on its meanings, understand it then live by it to the best of his/her ability.
Let's find out a few of the great rewards of being from the people of the Quran and a Hafiz:
🍁 In this Dunya:
📍 The people of the Quran are those who are blessed in their lives, are content with the Decree of Allah and they receive much goodness although they never asked for it.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “….Whoever is concerned about the Hereafter, Allah will settle his affairs, make him content in his heart, the world will come to him although he is reluctant for it.” Sunan Ibn Mājah 4105
📍 Don't we all yearn to be from the closest to Allah and from His people. From the most beloved to Allah? What more can we seek for in this life? This is truly the ultimate gift a servant can ever receive.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Verily, Allah has His own people among humanity.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?” The Prophet said, “They are the people of the Quran, the people of Allah and His chosen ones.” Sunan Ibn Mājah 215
📍 Besides your daily recitation, imagine the reward of one who takes the path of memorizing Quran. Constantly reciting, reviewing, understanding and contemplating on the verses
The Messenger of Allah ( peace and blessings be upon him): “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.” Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2910
🍁 In the Hereafter:
📍 The reward doesn't stop in the Dunya. In the next life, only more goodness will be awaiting. The highest levels of Paradise will be calling for you. Look at this beautiful hadith exclusively for the Memorizer of the Quran:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “It will be said to the companion of the Quran: Recite and ascend as you recited in the world. Verily, your rank is determined by the last verse you recite (i.e. by memory).” Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2914
📍 We all know that nothing we will ever do for our parents will be enough for everything they've done and sacrificed for us. Whether our parents have already passed away or still living with us, we are always wishing that we did more for them and that we made them proud of us. Fortunately, not only can we give sadaqah jayriah on their behalf and ask Allah for their forgiveness after they are gone, but when we devote ourselves in memorizing the Quran and acting upon it, our parents will be rewarded as well in the hereafter. What more of happiness would we want for them except a High Place in Jannah.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever reads the Quran, learns it, and acts in accordance with it, on the Day of Resurrection, his parents will be given a crown to wear whose light will be like the light of the sun, and his parents will be given garments which far surpass everything that is found in this world. They will say, ‘Why have we been given this to wear?’ It will be said, ‘Because your child learned the Quran.’” [Al-Haakim; Al-Albaani: authentic, in Saheeh At-Targheeb]
📍 What a great place to be with the companionship of the Angels in Jannah. Not only that, but we'll have a special intercession when we need it the most on the Day of Judgement.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The example of one who recites the Quran and memorizes it, will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels). And the example of one who recites the Quran and is committed to it, although it is difficult for him, will have a double reward.” Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 4937
"Read the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection" Sahih Muslim 804a
These are only a few of the many blessings, rewards and benefits one gets when living with the Quran. Allah's Words is Paradise in the chest. It may be the reason in which you become from the Wali of Allah walking on Earth so don't miss out on this great reward. Leave this life with something great. May Allah beautify our deaths, raise our ranks in this life and next and make us from the nearest to Him, from the people of the Quran.
