Happy Maundy Thursday!

Christus factus est pro nobis obediens
usque ad mortem, mortem autem crucis.

Christ became obedient for us
even unto death, death on the cross.

Wondering what we've been up to? We welcomed the newest member of our schola, little Flora Celestina into the world in January. Our lovely soprano, Hannah also recently got married.

Here is "Ave Regina Caelorum" by Steven D. Talley, our hymn of thanksgiving before Our Lady of Guadalupe at the end of Flora's baptism.

Have a blessed Holy Week!

On this day remembering those who have sacrificed their lives for peace, we’d like to share the finale from our concert: Elgar’s “Lux Aeterna”, a stunning piece which is based on this prayer—

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

We dedicated this piece to all of our loved ones who have gone before us, especially in this month of November where the Church commemorates the all faithful departed. May they rest in peace! 🙏🏼

A FULL HOUSE! We are beyond grateful for the love and support of all who attended our first-ever concert last night! 🙏🏼

A big thanks to Fr Juan Lucca and St Francis of Assisi for hosting us in their beautiful Parish, and to all of our friends and family who helped make it possible!

Ultimately, we are thankful to God for instilling within us a passion to sing His praises, and spread the beauty of the faith through sacred music.
What an honour and a blessing for our ministry to share the richness of our Catholic musical heritage in a concert setting, and help fundraise for St Francis’ tower restoration. If you attended, we would love to hear your feedback— please send us a dm! 📩

📸 The amazing Michael McKay was our photographer!

🪄 The lovely Brielle Quon was our graphic designer extraordinaire!

⛪️St Francis of Assisi was our gracious host!

❤️ And thank you to our dear, dear friends… it is always a joy singing with you, and it was truly incredible singing this concert together.

Megan Littlejohn — Soprano/Alto

🔥If you’re between the ages of 18 - 35, please fill out this survey about your experience of the Catholic liturgy today! This could greatly help the Archdiocese of Vancouver understand where young people are at in terms of their Mass experience, and how they could improve the liturgy to draw more people to attend Mass, and ultimately to Jesus Christ. Your answers are being collected by Anabella Ma (Nootebos) for personal research, and will be presented to the Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver for their consideration. Depending on your answers, this survey may take 8-10 minutes to complete. Thank you very much for your response! You can find the link here, in the comments, and in our instagram bio. 🙏🏼 Please share with your friends!

Today we celebrate the feast day of St Cecilia, Patroness of Music!

St Cecilia, please guide us and all musicians in our craft, and invigorate us as we continue singing praises to God. Following your example, may we be ever drawn to Jesus, who is Beauty incarnate. Amen.

Launching into a new season with a new look for Sacred Music Sundays! 🎉We felt that it was time to update our online presence to help sacred music reach more people, and also find a way to make it more manageable to maintain by having a consistent, simple brand identity. Our talented friend .quon at sat down to talk to us extensively about our mission as a choir and help us develop a vision for our image, as a group of young adults dedicated to spreading the beauty of the Church’s tradition in an accessible way. Our rebrand is steeped in the timelessness and perpetual relevance of the liturgy, where God meets us in an intimate way.Looking forward to expanding the reach of our Apostolate throughout our Archdiocese and beyond!+AMDG
