In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we will include time in the service on Sun Oct 18 for those who have lived these experiences to express their grief by lighting a candle. We are praying that everyone who joins us this Sunday will feel the peace and love of Christ in their circumstances.

This is our prayer, as Canadian Baptists, on this Sunday preceding the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We recognize, along with our country, that there is still truth to be learned about this land which God created and we now enjoy.

We continue to seek reconciliation with the First Peoples, and we want to learn how to walk together in truth, humility, mutual respect, and friendship; listening to and learning from one another; receiving the gifts that each of us brings.

We understand that this entails more than one day of acknowledgement, and we seek to be led by the Creator in all our ways, every day.

May the Lord have mercy and forgive us for what we know we've done wrong as His people in Canada, and show us what we don't yet understand. “Lord of all, continue to lead us as we steward this land and journey together.”

Amen.
