This is lovely - sharing for all those who may need to hear....

Have you ever been awake a little earlier than usual, perhaps jetlagged, up with the baby, or pulling an all-nighter? Have you heard that pre-dawn moment where the silence and darkness is cracked open by a warbling cry, met by an increasing symphony of bird song?
That’s the dawn chorus.

Scientists have many explanations for why birds do this. One social theory is that birds sing in that dark moment to signal to each other, especially the languishing among them, that they have survived the night. Their singing indicates that though dawn hasn’t yet broken, the light is coming. What an incredible reminder of the hope a community can bring on our mental health journey. Even when we can’t feel the warmth or see the light yet, those around us can remind us to hold on just a little bit longer.

This phenomenon is the inspiration behind much of what we’re releasing this week. I hope it brings you hope and reminds you of the ways we can care for each other in community, by learning from listening well. May you find yourself singing or being sung over this week, and may you hear the chorus around you.

Youth Unplugged- Community Feedback

Hey everyone! We will be starting up Youth Unplugged again in September! We will plan for once a month gatherings - with the dates being shared way ahead of time for the year.
We are looking for community feedback. What types of gatherings are Youth whom you know (k to Grade 8...but open to including high school students)...interested in participating in?

So far we have gathered to play games, do art, create stuff for the Fall Fair, clothing exchange, music jam...).

Please let us know your thoughts through the Youth Unplugged messenger. We plan to meet this summer to map out the year. Thanks!
