🌞 Church in the Park is Back! 🌳

Our Vancouver Church of Christ summer services begin this Sunday, and we can’t wait to worship together outdoors!

Join us at 11:00AM at Lower Hume Park Picnic Area (Brunette-Fraser Trail, New Westminster) for a short worship service followed by a potluck lunch coordinated by house church.

Come enjoy a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and good food in the sunshine. Bring your family, invite a friend, and join us!

Today, Mike Morettin shared a powerful message on becoming GREATER through GROWTH, rooted in Luke 13:6-9.

In Jesus’ parable of the fig tree, if God is the vineyard owner and Jesus is the gardener, then we are the tree being patiently cared for. The question is: what kind of fruit is our life producing?

Jesus tends the soil of our hearts so that we can grow - but real growth doesn’t happen instantly or without effort.

🌱 Growth takes time. There are no shortcuts to spiritual maturity. When we eventually bear fruit it is evidence of a genuine inward spiritual transformation.

🌱 Growth takes digging. We need to let God uncover what’s beneath the surface - old wounds, cynicism, and the things that make our hearts hard.

🌱 Growth takes fertilizing. The messy, difficult seasons of life can become the very things God uses to strengthen us. Trials test our faith, and perseverance helps us mature.

Sometimes the growth we long for comes through the very struggles we’d rather avoid. But in the hands of the Gardener, even hardship can produce beautiful fruit.

Tomorrow morning the VCOC campus students are leading the entire service - and while that might sound a little exciting (and maybe just a tiny bit unpredictable)… what really matters is this: God is being glorified through willing hearts.

These students are choosing to step up, serve, and use their voices, their gifts, and their faith to point us all back to Him. And there’s something powerful about that.

It’s a reminder that God is always working—raising up the next generation, building faith, and moving through people of all ages.
