Sabbath Sunday — This Sunday!

A reminder that there will be no services at either Groundswell location this Sunday, September 6, as we observe our annual Sabbath Sunday.

Each year, we intentionally set aside a Sunday to honour the rhythm of rest we see throughout Scripture and in the life of Jesus. Sabbath reminds us that we don’t have to constantly produce, accomplish, or keep going. We can stop, rest, and trust in the goodness and faithfulness of God.

So this Sunday, slow down. Spend time with people you love. Get outside. Enjoy a good meal. Pray. Take a nap. Notice God’s goodness around you.

Whatever rest looks like for you, we pray this Sunday gives you space to rest in the Lord, enjoy His goodness, and allow Him to restore your soul.

We’ll see you next Sunday, September 13, for Anniversary Sunday!

Start Strong – Last Chance to Donate

This Sunday is the final opportunity to donate to Start Strong, our back-to-school initiative supporting local families through Maggie's Place in Truro and the East Hants Family Resource Centre.

We're collecting:
- New, gender-neutral backpacks for junior high and high school students.
- Gift cards to Walmart, Staples, Dollarama, or Superstore to help families purchase the school supplies they need most.

Please bring your donations with you this Sunday, August 9.

Thank you for helping students in our communities begin the school year with confidence. Together, we can make sure more kids Start Strong.

This Saturday, July 25, from 12:00–1:30pm, we’ll be opening our doors for our monthly Community Dinner.

Everyone is welcome—whether you could use a hot meal, enjoy meeting new people, or simply want to share a table with others. We’d also love for you to invite a friend, neighbour, or someone who could use a little extra encouragement this week.

This August, Groundswell is partnering with Maggie’s Place in Truro and the East Hants Family Resource Centre to help local families get ready for back-to-school.

Looking for something new to try this summer?

Why not try church?

This July and August, join us for Summer Sundays at Five at the Milford Recreation Centre. It’s a relaxed evening built around good food, welcoming people, meaningful music, and a relevant message.

Come for a free supper at 5:00 p.m., stay for the service at 5:45 p.m., and see what church could be like for you. We’ll also have full GS Kids programming during the service, with a fun, safe, age-appropriate space for your children.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to know the songs or own a Bible. Just come as you are, bring a friend if you’d like, and give it a try.
