We're back!!

Our first event since the pandemic was a very successful sponsored walk at St. James' School in Colgan. The sun was out and so were the walkers who, together with our generous sponsors, helped to raise over $5,700 so far. Fantastic news for the local good causes that we help.

Special thanks to the local business who generously sponsored the event and who are listed on the banner in the photo - please give them your support.

Knights donated $3,000 to Alliston Out Of The Cold, the winter shelter for homeless people in our community. The funds were raised by selling a 'cash calendar' last Fall and prize draws were made weekly throughout this year. The calendar was specially designed to raise awareness of homelessness. Many local businesses and community organizations sponsored the calendar, allowing the proceeds to be given to Out of the Cold in readiness for the onset of this winter. Members John McIntyre (Project Chair) and John Sherrer (Treasurer) presented the cheque to Director Jenifer Pergentile.

We are pleased to support Alliston Out of the Cold financially through our Cash Calendar. They also need volunteers. Please help them if you can.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!
The success of our program depends entirely upon the dedication and commitment of our volunteers.
We have been incredibly blessed by such a giving community- we find our shelves fully stocked regularly and have received so many generous and kind monetary donations. Our greatest and most pressing need right now, though, is for more volunteers to be in the space helping to keep the doors open.

AOTC needs MORE volunteers to help run the shelter from day to day. Shifts vary from 2.5 hours to 8 hours in length depending on the shift. The more volunteers we have, the less of a burden it becomes for those who take multiple shifts regularly.
Dinner 5:00-7:30pm
Evening 7:15-11:00pm
Night 10:45-6am
Breakfast 5:45-8:30am
It is particularly difficult to cover night shifts throughout the week - and if we don’t have volunteers to work in the space unfortunately the shelter can not open for that day.

If you have any time to give, please head to www.allistonoutofthecold.com/volunteer and complete the online application to volunteer. Training dates are happening right away!

We will remember them."
