It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved summer staff member, Dawson Abrahams.
Our hearts are broken as we grieve alongside Dawson’s family, friends, fellow staff, campers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dawson loved Jesus deeply, and his faith was evident in the way he served others. He had a genuine passion for pointing campers toward Christ, encouraging them in their faith, and making each person feel seen and valued. His enthusiasm, joyful spirit, and wholehearted approach to everything he did left a lasting impact on our camp community, and he will be deeply missed.
During this incredibly difficult time, our focus is on supporting Dawson’s family, our staff, and our campers as we walk through this loss together. We ask that you keep them all in your prayers and respect the family’s privacy as they grieve.
As a community of faith, we hold tightly to the hope found in Christ, even as we mourn. We are grateful for the time we shared with Dawson and for the lasting impact his life and faith had on so many. One of Dawson’s favourite Bible verses was Galatians 2:20, a verse that reflected the way he sought to live each day:
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20
