|| Happy New Year! ||

In his talk “Of Things That Matter Most” (October 2010 General Conference), President Uchtdorf invites us to step back from the busyness and pressures of life and realign our priorities with what truly matters eternally. It’s especially meaningful at the beginning of a new year, when we’re considering goals, resolutions, and where we place our time and energy. He gently reminds us that discipleship is not about perfection, but about consistently choosing the better and more meaningful path—centering our lives on Jesus Christ.

“It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?”

|| Happy Sunday! ||

As the year comes to a close, it is a meaningful time to reflect on the experiences, lessons, and blessings of the past year while looking forward with hope and joy to the year ahead. Each day offers an opportunity for spiritual growth and to become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. As Elder Scott D. Whiting taught in “Becoming Like Him” (October 2020), “The first step on the path to becoming like Jesus Christ is to have the desire to do so. Understanding the admonition to be like Him is good, but that understanding needs to be coupled with a yearning to transform ourselves, one step at a time, beyond the natural man.” As we enter a new year, let us embrace each step with faith, gratitude, and a desire to draw closer to Him.

Even though Christmas has passed, the spirit of Christ does not end with the season. The love, generosity, peace, and hope we feel as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ are meant to be carried with us every day of our lives. As disciples of the Savior, we strive to keep His light in our hearts long after the decorations are put away. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works” (Matthew 5:16). As we choose daily to live as He taught, the true spirit of Christmas can remain with us always.

|| Light the World Day 25 - (John 3:16) ||

Today, we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. His coming into the world is the greatest gift ever given, a reminder of God’s infinite love for each of us. As followers of Jesus Christ, we rejoice in His light, His teachings, and His redeeming love. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son” (John 3:16). As we remember His birth today, may our hearts be filled with gratitude, peace, and a renewed desire to follow Him.

|| Light the World Day 24 - (Matthew 1:21) ||

Today, gather with family and friends to watch The Christ Child. Taking time to reflect on the Saviour’s birth through music and film invites a spirit of reverence, peace, and joy into our homes. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we seek opportunities to center our celebrations on Him and remember the love and hope He brought into the world. “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS” (Matthew 1:21). As we watch and reflect together, we invite the true spirit of Christmas to dwell among us and strengthen our bonds with one another.

|| Light the World Day 23 - (Isaiah 9:6) ||

Today, take time to reenact the Nativity as a way to prepare your heart and home for Christmas. Remembering the humble birth of Jesus Christ invites His Spirit into our lives and helps us focus on the true meaning of the season. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we cherish moments that centre our families on the Saviour and His divine mission. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given” (Isaiah 9:6). As we retell this sacred story, we invite peace, reverence, and the spirit of Christmas to dwell more fully in our homes.

|| Light the World Day 22 - (John 13:35) ||

Today, look for an opportunity to help by completing an item on someone else’s to-do list. Small acts of service can lighten heavy loads and show love in quiet, meaningful ways. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we follow the Savior’s example of noticing needs and stepping in to help, even when the act feels simple or unseen. The Lord teaches us, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35). As we serve in these small ways, we reflect Christ’s love and help make life a little easier for those around us.

|| Light the World Day 21 - (Matthew 18:20) ||

Today, take a moment to call someone you miss. A simple phone call can bridge distance, rekindle connection, and remind someone that they are loved and remembered. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are encouraged to strengthen relationships and reach out with compassion. The Savior taught, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). As we reach out to one another in love, we invite His spirit into our relationships and into our lives. Let's let others know we are thinking of them!

|| Light the World Day 20 - Lift Others ||

Today, make an effort to offer a sincere compliment to everyone you meet. A kind word, a genuine smile, or simple encouragement can lift a heart more than we realize. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to speak with love and to help others feel seen and valued. President Russell M. Nelson reminded us, “The Savior’s message is clear: His true disciples build, lift, encourage, persuade, and inspire.” As we choose to speak kindness freely, we reflect the Savior’s love and help bring light into the lives of those around us.

|| Light the World Day 18 - Pray Always (D&C 29:7) ||

Today, take a moment to pray for someone you know who may be struggling or in need of help. Prayer invites the power of heaven into the lives of those we love and softens our own hearts as well. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we believe in a God who hears and answers prayers, often in ways we may not immediately see. The Savior taught, “Pray one for another, that ye may be healed” (Doctrine and Covenants 29:7). As we faithfully lift others to the Lord in prayer, we participate in His work and trust in His perfect love and timing.
