With sadness, but in sure and certain hope of the resurrection through our Lord Jesus Christ, I want to let you know that our dear brother in Christ, Peter Patterson, has died.
Peter was known and deeply loved by many of you and I know this news will be hard to hear, especially because his death has come so quickly. It was just over 2 weeks ago that we gathered to honour his faithful service to our Lord and His Church. I'm grateful we had that opportunity and that I learned after the service that he was able to watch it live and was deeply touched.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date and we will keep you informed. Please especially keep Barb, Paul, Andrew and their families in your prayers - praying that God would hold them close, comfort them by His Spirit, and fill them with His peace.
Let us pray:
"Rest eternal, grant to Peter, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all those faithfully departed rest in peace and rise again in glory. Amen."
"Loving God whose son, Jesus Christ, is the Resurrection and the Life, we lift Barb, Paul, Andrew and their families, and all who grieve Peter's death to you now. We pray that you would hold them close and that they may know your peace and comfort. We pray your grace would sustain them and they may have strength to meet today and the days ahead with steadfastness and patience; not grieving as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life with all your saints. We pray through Jesus Christ our risen Lord and Saviour. Amen."
