Assalamu alaikum my beloved brothers and sisters,
We hope this message from our Imam SH. Bashir SH. Mohammed Nur reaches you and your loved ones in the best of health.
We pray for Allah's mercy in these hard times of uncertainty and worry. Please take solace in knowing that most services at Islamic Education Guidance Center as well as Hadi masjid will still be offered via online.
The Islamic school has officially started via online and parents are encouraged to register their children if they have not already done so. We appreciate your patience during these trying times. All of our educators and staff members have been working tirelessly to ensure that our students continue to learn and thrive In their studies despite the current circumstances and challenges this pandemic has brought on.
We understand that everyone is experiencing some level of anxiety and stress and might therefore need the comfort of the regular masjid services such as the live Ruqia sharia that was offered weekly. Please understand that our first and most important priority is the safety and health of everyone In our community and have therefore made sure to follow the orders put in place to avoid gatherings of groups. SH. Bashir has kindly offered to host a live Facebook session of the Ruqia Sharia this weekend (stay tuned for the exact time).
Taraweeh will still be prayed at the masjid but will not be open to the public. Anyone who still wishes to listen to beautiful and peaceful recitaion of the quran being recited by our Imam can do so via facebook live or the masjid youtube channel Islamic Association.
There have been numerous questions as to whether or not it is permissible to pray along with the Imam whilst he is live on video or social media. Alhamdulillah the Imams councils of North America have come to the unanimous decision that is not permissible for someone to follow in prayer of an Imam whilst he is oneline. In order for an individual to get the reward and have their salah accepted, it is required that the Imam and the Muslims be present together. Please stay tuned for an indept analysis and explanation of this topic from our Imam in a future video, Insha Allah.
Islamic lectures by Sh. Bashir will be posted as often as possible on our YouTube channel Islamic Association during Ramadan. Please be sure to share them with your friends and family during Ramadan to help lift their spirits and Iman!
Lastly but not least, we ask you to remember the house of Allah during these hard times. We ask you to not only make dua but to generously donate to the house of Allah so that it can continue to be a place where we come together to worship our creator Most High, Most Merciful.
Our Masjid is the backbone of our community. It the place where we share the happiness of Eid, of our children completing the Quran, the place where our marriages are blessed and children are reared. It is the safe haven where the sick, the poor and the frightened all seek solace and peace. Let's not forget that we will still need our Masjid just as much if not more than we will need one another when this is all over. The Masjid had always run on the kindness and generosity of our beautiful community and it is in need of support now more than ever.
With the doors closed, it is become increasingly difficult to maintain and continue to meet the monthly expenses. Please note that the monthly upkeep of the masjid is all of our responsibility as we are one ummah who must lean on one another In times of need.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us via message through Facebook.
May Allah grant everyone who is sick shifaa and continue to protect us all. Jizakallah khair and please stay safe,
Assalamu Aaikum.
